Re: What is everyone smoking for New Years?

I had great plans to spark up my first Opus, but I just wasn't into it. I have two of them, but I'll hang onto them for a while. This morning, I've decided to have a Short Story with my coffee. This is also a first for me. I've never had a bad Fuente, so I'm quite sure it will be just as good as all the others.

Re: What is everyone smoking for New Years?

I am about 25 minutes into my Short Story, and I am not disappointed in the least. If I could only have one type of cigar in the cooler, this wouldn't be my first choice, but it sure is good. It's just hard to go wrong with a Fuente, in my fairly limited experience with them. Great draw and burn, as you would expect. Great, thick gobs of smoke, even before the burn reached the body of the cigar.

I don't smoke a lot of figurados, but I have to say that I personally wouldn't mind if all cigars came with the 'nipple' foot on them. Lights up like a champ!

I've been goofing around as I write this, so I'm now at about 45 minutes, and she's starting to get pretty short. I figure I only have 2-3 more good drags off this before I have to put it out, and I don't want to! I think I'm going to have to get out the 'nubbing spike' to see if I can get a few extra minutes out of this beauty.

My mustache was starting to singe, so I put it out. Burning hair doesn't really add anything good to the cigar experience. What a great little smoke.

Didn't have my Opus either as I am suffering a head cold, it is affecting my sense of taste. Why waste an OPus when it can't be properly enjoyed. Just had a cheap Indios Puros

Re: What is everyone smoking for New Years?

I went with the following:

Diamond Crown Robusto (Natural)
Romeo y Julieta Edicion Limitada Prominente
Aurora 100 Anos Torpedo

I'll probably finish up the day with an Anejo Shark, but haven't quite decided yet.

Hope everyone has a safe and prosperous year!

Jim

Re: What is everyone smoking for New Years?

I went with an OpusX Belicoso and paired it with a glass of Balvenie 17 Yr SherryOak. I was a very tasty way to ring in the new year! Here are a couple pics. The ash was rock solid!

Re: What is everyone smoking for New Years?

I celebrated New Years Day with two cigars. The first one was an Opus XxX that was a gift of a friend. Later on that evening I smoked a very nice La Aurora Cien Anos.

What a great way to usher in a new year!!

Keep on smoking brothers and sisters!

I left the RA alone and went with my first Opus. Hope everyone had a good one.
