The "dangers" of second hand smoke are as bogus as the dangers of smoking.

Its personal physiology. A hardcore, 3 pack a day smoker like my grandmother can smoke for 60 years no cancer no problems. And someone else can be around smokers for a year and get lung cancer.


Some get it some don't. It is just the latest acceptable prejudice. In the 1800s it was Irish later the blacks.(I'm sure I'm missing a few groups in between) Then the homosexuals. We seem to need an acceptable group to bash or we are not happy as a country.

We here are mostly interested in the tobacco-related aspects of it, but the same thing happens over and over, for everything from AIDS to "climate change", to "assault weapons", and many other issues. The True Believers, on both sides, become so rabidly devoted to their position that they see nothing at all wrong with manipulation of facts, statistical shenanigans, obfuscation, and outright, bald-faced lying to support their goals.

The perceived threat is so great, and the issue is so important, that the pursuit of "The Greater Good" trumps Truth. Occasionally, one of them will even admit it publicly, in moments of what I call "accidental candor". If they're willing to totally fabricate one or more of their key arguments, how am I supposed to believe anything else they say? And as soon as someone claims they're doing something for "the children", which happens almost daily, I'm immediately skeptical of everything else they've said. This is why I have become so utterly agnostic about so many, many things.

I know that some people think he is a nut case, but Doctor Terry Simpson has been talking about this quite a bit lately on some of the Dogwatch Social Club podcasts.

The simple fact is, there is NO research that supports the 2nd hand smoke causes cancer theory, and there is a LOT of research that debunks it.

Smokers are simply another quiet minority that are getting pushed around by an even smaller majority that have both government and cash on their side. Smokers need to stand up for their rights, and the louder we get, the more the tide will roll in our favor!!

Just my 1.82 cents worth to be sure.
