From my trades, bombs, etc., I have lots and lots of different marcas. I do try to keep my regulars around, but I do enjoy the variety from time to time.

Re: Max # of brands in your humidor is...

Well I have around a hundred stogies. Of those there probably about 80-90 different brands AND sizes. Of unique brands alone, probably about 30.

It's all the result of suggestions of members on the board and I've smoked many a good stogie thanks to the people here. Now that I'm developing more of a taste for what I like I'll probably see the number of brands and size go down.

1477 sticks total.
I keep about 22 Cuban brands including "Hand-rolled" as 1.
There are only a few marcas I don't care for, but may have been gifted a few here and there.
I have only 5 NC's which I asked for, or were gifted.

I am still loyal to Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 Belicoso. I always have in one my humidors. I am a Torpedo/Belicoso fan. I have been blessed this year and have over 50 Opus in various sizes and shapes. There I am loyal only to the blends, but Power Ranger xXx, Super Belicoso, Perfecxion No.2 and Petite Lanceros are my favorites shapes.

I have just over 150 cigars on hand, and most of them are singles. I buy the odd 5 pack, and lately a few bundles, but I really enjoy the variety of being able to smoke something different just about every day.

Re: Max # of brands in your humidor is...

I'm pretty much a Toro smoker. Although I also like Churchills in some brands and Coronas for that short smoke. I don't care for Robustos because it seems that when they finally start to taste their best they are gone. Torpedos are my least favorite because they have a tendency to be hard to draw. In order to get them to draw you have to clip most of the point off and then they have a tendancy to become soaked with saliva.

In two of my small humis I have well over 100 singles. I try to keep a stick from every brand that I have tried over the years. My other small humi houses my yard gars (RG Santiago and Rolys) In my old main humi I'll keep a box of my go to cigars Mayorga and Isle del Sol (my morning coffee cigars), VS Conneticut Yankee and Perdomo Slow Age Mad. Gloriosos. It also houses various 3 to 5 sticks left over from Brand Samplers (my special occasion/change of pace cigars). Right now they are Cuba Alidos, Puros Indios, MOW, RyJ 1875, Punch After Dinners, 5Vegas Classics, Gold, Miami, and Serie A.

My newest Humi (which can be seen over in the Accessory Reviews) will house a box of 12 year old Quinteros and various stick samplers and 5'ers that I have recently purchased from other BOTL's here at CS. Of course this is all subject to change.

Sorry for the long post, but you asked.

I tend to stick with Montecristo, Partagas and Bolivar. However I want to try more Padron 1964 and Cohibas.

Re: Max # of brands in your humidor is...

I use two different method to fill my humis

First if a cigar is more than 8 bucks a stick ill smoke a variety of the sizes to find the one that suits my palate best then stock up on two or three if I like it.
Second if a cigar is under 8 I buy 3 or 4 of the recommended size smoke one and age the others.

I have about 60 stick and no more than 4 of any I find I like smoking a large varity but when I get my coolador fnished I plan on collecting boxes. About 2/3 of my sticks are full flavored an d I have no distinct size preference just how ever long I feel like smoking depends on what I grab.

Re: Max # of brands in your humidor is...

I have a few brands I always have in my humidor:
  • Fuente Short Stories
  • Famous Nic 3000 robustos
  • RP sungrowns (petite perfectos and toros)
  • Padron 2000 maduros or londres maduros
The rest of my humidor is filled with boxes, partial boxes, samplers and singles of dozens of other brands/styles - some expensive, some not. One of the best parts of smoking cigars, for me, is trying new ones. But, if I just want to relax and smoke a cigar I'm guaranteed to enjoy, I'll pull one of my consistent performers.
