Suport your local Tobacconist's

You never know what you may find on the shelves . I was driving home today after a visit to a local Dutch Market , saw a cigar shop that I had not visited in a while . And low a behold as I walked completely around the the walk-in humi , by the door on a low shelf , there they were 9 dark and beautiful Fuente Anejo #48's . I just couldn't resist and grabbed them all with the box . I never would have thought that they would still be available this far after the holiday season was over . I was actually hoping to find some King B's or maybe Sungrown 858's . It was quite an ending to my week , Retalliation Bomb from Lance , Cbid package arrived , Bargain humidor package arrived and the found the Anejo's . Has anybody found any rarities at there local shop's lately ?

Re: Suport your local Tobacconist's

My favorite B&M stunned me last weekend with dozens of boxes of La Aurora Anos...................... they were well priced and didn't seem to be drawing anyones attention up on the top shelf in the corner ..............

Last time I was home in January I went to my small B+M and found some Fuente 858s that I have never seen there before. Bought two.

My local always has a hefty amount of Padron 1964's and 1926's even the 40TH. They are priced at MSRP.

I fully agree on supporting your local tobbaconist. They can be your best friend. Yes, online prices are cheaper but sometimes it doesn't hurt to go and buy some sticks or a box from the local B&M. There is a wealth of knowledge in some of the better B&Ms and there are usually great people to sit, smoke and shoot the sh*t with. With that I tend to buy a little online, and a little from the local B&M.

Re: Suport your local Tobacconist's

ehh nothing too special about my 3 locals, except one sells really expensive and crappy fakes (CSI: CS 1 featured two of them)

one good thing was my tinderbox has one of those LGC humidors, loaded with trays of Maduro and natural LGC limitadas. he opened it up and is selling them all as singles and then keeping the humi for himself! needless to say there nice and cheap!

congrats on that find Bubba.. its like my reoccouring dream where i find a 1957 Les Paul goldtop at some old granmas yard sale

I keep stopping in small shops in my area, hoping to find something special. But so far, no luck. I will probably never get to buy an Anjeo.

Oh, how I wish for a local B&M. The closest ones are almost 2 hours away.
Hmm, I wonder is there need for a local B&M.

Re: Suport your local Tobacconist's

I have two local B&Ms that have very nice stocks of premium cigars. Unfortunately, I live in California and we have a horrendously high tobacco tax, which of course is passed on to the consumer. THus, though I do buy from my local proprieters, I can't really afford to do so on a regular basis.

That said, I do try and support them by purchasing singles or occasional boxes, and by attending their events and auctions.

That wouldn't happen to have been in Princeton Junction, NJ, by any chance?

Re: Suport your local Tobacconist's

I agree as well. I do not buy many at a time just a few sticks here and there. With the cost of shipping it works out to about even for me. I have a good local B and M and they are always helpful and not pushy at all. Lack some of the higher end cigars like the Anejo's, but have a pretty good selection. I have gotten some real good advice from them.

Re: Suport your local Tobacconist's

I buy 95% of my smokes from my local B&M because they were so helpful to me when I got into smoking, they have a great lounge, they are extremely friendly, and I like to support local businesses. Not that I don't buy anything online, I do, but I like to buy locally if I can, if not I go to the internet.
