looking for a generic Nub

I really like the idea of a short fat cigar like the Nub. I smoke the Connecticut wrapped 4x60 on occasion but I'd like to find a cheaper "generic" version @ no higher than $2.00 per stick, box price.
Any reccomendations?
I'm surpised more manufacturers haven't jumped on this size.

Re: looking for a generic Nub

A few weeks ago I tried Villa Dominicana petit robusto 4x50. Haven't tried my Havanah NUB yet. For price point at < $2, it wasn't bad at all. Smoked it during the last Patriots snowbowl while we were tailgaiting in the snow, it only added to the experiance. If the nun doesn't blow me away, this will be a great alternative at 1/3rd the cost!

I think this might be a sin.

The 460 connecticut has sold for as little as $73/box on cbid. That's more like $3/stick. But (individual tastes notwithstanding) I think oliva has a leg up on the market on how to make a good short, fat cigar - they've put a lot of attention to detail into the brand as far as which part of the filler leaf they use, and how many wraps of the wrapper is used.

That said, there is also the 5 vegas miami knuckle. It's not much cheaper than the nub, but it is also well-liked.

Unquestionably, the NUB is a great smoke, just too expensive for my 2-4 cigar a day indulgence. I smoke a lot of Olivas. Great bang-for-your buck premium sticks. The O's G's & V's are all great & well priced.
I really like the Famous Nic 2000 CT robusto. At 32.00 a bundle they are my favorite bargain stick.

Sorry, I was a little unclear in how I worded that - oliva makes the nub and that's what I was referring to. It's true though, $3/smoke makes a big difference over $2/smoke in the long run.
