Rocky Patel - CI deal and opinions

Hi all,

I've never tried a Rocky Patel and CI seems to have a nice deal that is a good way to get a broad sampling of what they have to offer.

It includes 12 cigars for $31.99 and the sampler runs the gamut from mild to full bodied.

As reasonable as this deal is, before I jump in I was just wondering what some of you RP fans thought of these sticks.

Thanks.

Jim

RP is one of those love 'em or hate 'em labels around here. Most newbies around here like them. I am a big fan of the Vintage 90s, 92s, Sungrown, the Edge Maduro, and Esteban Carrera. I'm a Rocky guy. Go for it!

In the past I've smoked about half the sticks coming in the sampler( both OWR, Edge and 92) and liked them. At $3 a stick they are a decent buy; so, I dropped the hammer on the sampler deal.

If you haven't tried them go for it. Great deal on some very good smokes, just be sure to let them rest a bit before putting the fire to them.

RP makes some very good sticks. Realistically, in my own opinion, you always know what you're gonna get. If you have a Vintage 1990 today, it'll be pretty much the same as any one you ever smoke. Same with damn near all of his blends.

For that price, there's a good selection of very good sticks and it's worth it.

I've smoked several out of the approximately 12,000 various RP blends and vitolas, but I'm kind of ambivalent about them. I don't hate them, but none of them has really 'wow-ed' me, either. I find myself picking them when I'm in the mood for a cigar, but I'm doing something else too, and don't feel like really focusing on the experience. I do remember the Edge Lite toro and the Signature toro standing out above the others, at least for me. There are obviously a lot of them I haven't tried, though.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I really love the ITC 10th. Did anyone see the seconds that cigar.com in selling? Any opinions on that deal?

Re: Rocky Patel - CI deal and opinions

As a newbie on the forum, I want to say thanks for all the great responses and input.

I recently met a fellow smoker at a holiday party and he was raving about the 90s and 92s. His gushing sounded a little over the top to me, so I thought I'd get some other opinions. Thanks again.

Re: Rocky Patel - CI deal and opinions

That really is a good buy and it will give you a chance to smoke some cigars that everyone should try IMO. As was mentioned though, I find they are MUCH better after a month or more in the humidor.
