Mike, Do a search on LBV ports.. Goes great with a cigar. 94 LBV Taylor is a good place to start.

Hey Mike,

Take a gander over in the Food, Drink, and Wine Forum...I think you will find some nice suggestions there!

Good luck with finishing up your room!

Dont forget the Single Malt Scotch. Some good "go to" ones are Glenlivet 12, Macallan 12, and Gleenfiddich 12. These are all pretty ggod Scotches and moderatley priced. RJT

Do you live near a Trader Joe's? They have great port and reasonable wines. Sounds like you're not trying to break the bank on wine, and you shouldn't have to.

For semi-sweet wines, Rieslings, Mosactos, and Sauternes are great (both white)
Zinfandel Red's from Cal., make sure they are over 14% alocohol. Austrailian Shiraz, especially from Barossa Valley are almost always winners.

Hard liquor, Kirsch & Eau de Vie, Cognac, Scotch-Whiskey, and Tequila all go well.

Re: Liquor and Wine stock for cigar room.

Ridge zin's - an eternal favourite. A wine to impress folks with; sunshine in a bottle. Pairs really well with a medium to full cigar.
http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp...3A99&area=wine

Rosenblum - Always dependable and this is especially good. Buy it before they run out! Same cigar pairing as the other zin, i'd go medium to full on this one.
http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp...3A99&area=wine

For the person with a sweet tooth... This raspberry wine poured over a bit of icecream (or with a bit a dark chocolate) is pure passion. Truly a crowd pleaser... A nice medium bodied cigar, perhaps something from the fuente family?
http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp...artial&Ntk=All

This wine is also for the sweet tooth. A very sweet dessert wine with a bit of tartness to it. I'd pair this with a smooth cigar that has a bit of cedar to it in order to complement the flavours and not overpower each other.
http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp...artial&Ntk=All

for rums, i'd go with these:

http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp...hestRating%7C1

I'm a fan of the zaya rum's. A great rum imho.

If you can splurge... an all time favourite for a cold night with a very special moment.... I'd grab a bottle of this:
http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp...ng%7C1&Ntk=All

for a cognac i'd consider this one. I love camus offerings, especially the "extra" but this looks a good value. I'd mate this one with a bold isom...
http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp...ng%7C1&Ntk=All

for a single malt i'd grab a dahlwinnie. A very, very smooth single malt that will match nicely with cigars without overpowering them with peatiness.
http://www.bevmo.com/productinfo.asp...ng%7C1&Ntk=All

Sounds like you have a fun project ahead of you!
Good luck!

Well here's a good list:

Whiskey/Bourbon: Marker's Mark, Gentleman Jack
Tequila: Patron Silver, Don Julio Blanco
Rum: Diplomatico, Ron Zacapa 23 Anos

Port Wine: Graham's Six Grape, Taylor Fladgate LBV 1999, Croft LBV 1999

Enjoy

I was waiting for that.

Here's what I think a well-stocked bar needs:

Scotch [Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie, etc.]
Blended Whiskey [Jameson, Bushmills, Crown, etc.]
Bourbon [Booker's, Maker's Mark, etc.]
Cognac [see recent thread]
Vodka (one cheap, but not crap, for mixing, one good [Ciroc, Grey Goose, etc.--I love Tito's for middle of the road stuff])
Gin [Bombay Sapphire, etc.]
Rum [Zacapa, Appleton, etc.]
Tequila (anejo and blanco) [Don Julio, Herradura, etc.]
Coffee Liquer [Kahlua]
Irish Cream [Bailey's]
Vermouth (sweet and dry)

Mixers:
Fruit juices (get plenty of Rose's Lime Juice)
Soda water
Tonic
Coke
7up

Garnish:
Lemon
Lime
Olives
Maraschino Cherries

Do a search for wines.

Edit: forgot Grand Marnier, Drambuie, and Pimm's (for your Brit friends).

Right. You should be able to walk out of a shop with 4 bottles of good wine for under $50. South American wines are really great now. I love trying Argentinean and Chilean reds.
