Tonight's smoke: Puros Indios Nacionale

This was my first Puros Indios cigar, which I got as part of a Cbid sampler. It had a very smooth, medium-bodied flavor, but I don't think I'll buy anymore Nacionales. I don't like the shape. It's too narrow (43 ring guage) for its length (6.5"), which gives it a tight draw. It also had a bad tendency to canoe.

I know some others on the board smoke Puros Indios and Rolys. What are your thoughts on this brand?

I like both Puros Indos and Cuba Alliados. I have not had too many constuction issues with them. Though I find their pyramids tend to be on the soft side. But they make good cheap full bodied smokes.

Re: Tonight's smoke: Puros Indios Nacionale

I've had the Puros maduro robusto that was gifted to me (thanks drevim). I thought it had a VERY mild flavor to be a maduro (the body was also on the mild side of medium). The wrapper was also very light in color. It had a slightly loose draw and tended to burn a little hot. Once I slowed down on the draw rate it began to taste a bit better. It was still a faster burn than most other robs I have had. For the price I don't think it was a bad stick, just not a go-to.

Try the PI Viejo Double Maduro. It's medium to full but very smooth.

I'm probably in the minority, but I enjoy the PI Nacionales, as I do other of their maduros... I nice, mild smoke after lunch, and you can't beat the price!

Hmm. The one I had was not a maduro.
