Sad day.

In respect to the wife,
And the fact that I'm currently "between jobs"

I promised not to buy any cigars 'till when I get the first paycheck from the next job.

Sad day indeed.

Got the cache, (around 16 cigars, right now) so I'm fine. But gah, I'm willing to settle for anything at this point. Back to the job boards

*sigh*

Oh well.

Hopefully something comes through soon.

Good luck with the searching. Hopefully that job finds it's way to you soon enough. Now you have additional motivation!

Re: Sad day.

Thank all of you, very much for everything. Got an interview lined up with a job at a mill not too far out, so I'm crossing my fingers on that.

And- my sis called me and said her place of employ is hiring pretty much anyone. Last resort, but it'll do till I can find a better job. Gonna check it out tomorrow afternoon. (Telemarketing, ack) But, down to 1200 in savings, and I can't let food for the kiddo slide.

By the way, any of you who are dads, at around the 7 month age did you notice the kiddo being more partial to one parent then the other?'All week little Bugsy's been kinda stingy with the laughs for me, but belts 'em out for the wife. Just wondering if it's normal, or if I gotta start spoiling her to get the attention again/

My little man is 13-months-old today. That's very normal for a baby to go in phases like that. There was a period where our son would only laugh for me, and right now he only wants my wife to read him books. If I start to read him a book, he looks up at me, grabs to book, and goes to mommy

It's kinda tough not to take it personally, but try--it's probably not even a cognitive decision (certianly not at 7 months).

And congrats on the baby, by the way!

...I just said a prayer that you'd find a job soon! And I agree with the "take what you can get" point of view at this point. In a while when the economy is out of the crapper then you can be choosy--right now, you gots to eat!

Re: Sad day.

Good luck with the job search. I'm sure you'll find something soon.

I can't speak about my own kids, cause I don't have any, but I do have 3 nieces. This is definitely a common thing, with parents and aunts and uncles. One week you're this one's favorite, then the next week you've got to steal a hug and kiss from them. It can be tough, but if you're patient it will cycle back around to your turn.

If you run out of smokes before the job comes PM me and I'll help you get through until it does.

Re: Sad day.

My son is 16 months and he still does it. He goes to Mommy to cuddle and eat and be comforted. When daddy gets home, it time to play, roll around, chase the dog, etc but that's it.

Re: Sad day.

Enjoy your son now, my friend. When he becomes a teenager, the only thing he'll be belting out is grunts.

Re: Sad day.

Yes I know the feeling. After being laid off and then called back to only work a 20 hour work week, I have that the cigar blues bad. Unable to by any and running low in the tupperdor. I feel your pain.

Indeed, I would love to pay it forward. I'm in a pretty good place in life (no one knocking at my door for past due accounts)
PM your addresses: I'll throw a little something to the cause, why because we are BOTL!
