Famous - sent wrong cigar

I placed an order to Famous for the Nicaraguan 3000 based on recommendations posted here and they sent the Dominician 3000 by mistake.

I have not tried either of these cigars and was just wondering if you guys had any comparison of the two. For $39.99 with free shipping, I'm not sure it's even worth sending them back.

I know the Dominician is probably a little milder than the Nicaraguan, but what about the taste difference?

Anyone tried both of these?

I've not had the Dominican 3k but I have had a bundle of the Honduran 3k and really liked them. I picked them up at Famous auctions for less than retail so that made them better.

Have you called Famous and alerted them of their error?

I would call Famous. They've got a generally good reputation, and I'm sure they'll take care of you.

You could also break it up and sell it on here... I'm sure some BOTL might be willing to try it.

You know, I'll probably just keep them and I know famous would make it right, but I was just curious if anyone had tried them both and what the differences are. I see alot of info on the Nic's but hardly anything on the Dominicans.

I have had the Dom, Nic, & Hond 3K. The Domincan is not bad...but the other two were definately better. I most likely will never order them (Dom) again.

I really enjoyed the Honduran 3k bundle I got... too bad they have been discontinued

I was thinking the same thing halfway through my bundle. I went to possibly get some more and noticed they had been discontinued.

As for the discontinued brands and inexpensive bundles in general, pick up as many as you can before the SCHIP tax goes into effect. (Likely April 1st) 40 cents a cigar doesn't sound like much but could mean the difference between a $20 bundle and a $35 bundle, no matter where you buy it from.

So how does this help get the Honduran 3k back from being discontinued?

On a side note, I noticed that you seem to have a lot of bundles discontinued... is this due to the SCHIP?

It doesn't. Unless we get an unbeatable deal from the manufacturer, the brand is gone for good.

No. We have not made any decisions nor implemented any policies based on SCHIP quite yet. The bundles on the DL either had their run or were just a one time deal.

Update.....

I kept the Dominican's and reordered the Nic 3000's also.
The Dom's were Ok but pretty bland for me....the Nic 3000's are great for a $40 bundle (free shipping).

The Nic 3000 are highly reccomended here and they are a good choice.

What do you disagree with?

I to have always had good service from Famous and I wasn't complaining about Famous, they would certainly have made it right had I chose to return the Dominicans. It was my choice to keep them, I was just looking for someone who had tried both. I didn't say I wasn't going to smoke them, I simply stated that now I had tried both and I preferred the Nic's over the Dominicans.
