Man! Does that brand ever get a rough ride here!

I've had a lot of their lighters starting with a laserton (now known as "Beam Sensor) I bought in O'Hare duty free in the 80's and it was a gem... since then I had 3 or 4 of their "clip" lighters (the "pen" style) and they were great (I had one go thru the wash 2 or 3 times and it worked until I lost it)

I've had way more stolen and lost than "trouble" or bad units.

I currently own about 20 different ones and while of course not Swiss / French quality they have been pretty decent lighters in my books (for the price) The quality went down a few years ago and a lot of factory seconds and discontinued pieces hit eBay.

The company has been in trouble for a while I hear. I hope the Cdn distributor will still do repairs as I have a Trifecta that I got off eBay that needs work. My first Trifect is 4 years old and has never missed a beat.

They also distribute Dupont and several other lines of pens and such so I imagine they will still be around. They have a great Asian guy that can fix any lighter in his sleep. Hope he keeps his job and if not I need to get his contact info.

Must call Monday. Will advise.

Me. The old ones were not bad (Movado-Zenith el primero for example) but the black ones with the gold dot and all the derivatives are as ugly as sin.

Their lighters did suck, but the job losses sucks more. My neighbor just got a 2 week non paid vacation at work. Hits home when you see the fallout first hand.
