Flor de Olivas. These aren't all too hard to find and should cost less than $2.

It's hard to say without knowing what your local shop carries. Go ask them for some recommendations. Seriously, tell them what you told us and give them a price range. It's been my experience that the local guys are nice enough and they might have a few gems.

You can buy some Sancho Panzas at a good price, though they can be a little on the strong side. You could also pick up some Padron 2000s or Londres at a great price <$3/stick and then you won't feel like you are giving your friends crap.

I would second Flor de Oliva Gold.. Milder side of Flor De Oliva for inexperienced smokers.

If you give them bad smokes you are passing up the opportunity for a new herfing friend.

Flor De Ybor City from Tampa Sweethearts would be another good bet, the regular not the sungrown.

This Newbie has a recomendation. Try the Casa Torano. It's cheap and a very good cigar. This is the kind you can give to a friend and join them with the same Cigar. That was you can discuss the Cigar and enoy a good smoke with a good buddy.

Cheers,

The Bruce

I like all Padrons but they might be a bit strong for non/new smokers. I think Gispert nat/mad are great for the price. Also rolys are very good for the price(seconds from Puros Indios). Good luck.

Re: Looking for CHEAP Cigars to buy for Non-regular Smoking Friends

Looking through my journal, and came up with a mild-medium stick that might fit the bill:

(QUOTE)

(revisit) Alec Bradley Spirit of Cuba Double Corona Cameroon $2.00 (from B&M) – A “Cuban sandwich” smoke, comprised of both short and long fillers. A bit loose on construction, but burned reasonably well. Light spice, but the remarkable thing about flavor was a “tartness.” I liked it, and will look online for a bundle deal!

I can't belive no one has mentioned Baccarat yet . They're cheap , readily avalable and a quality smoke that occasional smokers will enjoy . Just about everytime I read a thread on this subject the Baccarat line is usually one of the first to be recommended . Good luck and enjoy .

Arturo Fuente Brevas; Arturo Fuente Curly heads; Qourums; La Fincas
All around 2 bucks a stick, the Quorums and la Fincas you can prolly get in a bundle. All are pretty good smokes for the money.

I love CAO cigars. If you're getting them for two or three dollars a stick, let me know where!

Re: Looking for CHEAP Cigars to buy for Non-regular Smoking Friends

A couple of ideas:

You can usually find 5-packs of Indian Tabac for about $1.50/stick on Cbid (not the Super Fuertes, they're more expensive, but the Limited Reserves)..

Also, you might try La Perla Habana Black Pearl, which I really like and can usually find on CBid for about $2/stick.

Also, JR Cigars has a line of JR Alts, some of which I have found to be very good (Cuban Monte #2, Excalibur Prensada, & Limitada Edicion). Be warned though: a lot of smokers on this board have had bad experiences with these. I don't understand how.. but then again, I despise Flor de Oliva bundle cigars, which some people swear by. To each his own, I guess.

Also, JR Cigars sell Consuegra seconds really cheap. The #9 is supposed to be good, although I've never had it myself.

Re: Looking for CHEAP Cigars to buy for Non-regular Smoking Friends

A local pipe/cigar shop (in one of our malls) has some inexpensive cigars that go for about $1.75 - $2.00. They're called "Cheap Bastard". Anybody else seen these ?
