Really muggy here today. I grabbed and hand rolled cigar I got from a recent La Aurora event... and one of those Great Lakes Brewing India Pale Ales that I got from Andy.

I have no idea about this cigar except that it is AWESOME. It was a special blend for events is what the La Aurora guy told me. If they made these for production I would smoke nothing else. Medium, lots of creamy smoke and an incredible taste. Freakin' awesome. The IPA was so good I had 2 more. Crisp and loaded with flavor. It brought me out of my recent cigar funk. Thanks again Andy.

As an attempt to enjoy my last day of my twenties, I decided to be a little adventurous & try something I had never had or even heard of until I bought it. I tried an El Serio Torpedo. You can only get them at SeriousCigar.com. I figured what the heck, it sounded good (a Corojo wrapped around a Nicaraguan binder & filler). The wife & I took the our dog & her dad's dog for a walk through her family's woods.

I cut the cap & took a pre-lit puff......WOW !!! It was loaded with a strong semi-sweet chocolate flavor with a touch of licorice. It was great....I should have never lit it.

It sure looked good. It lit easily & burned very well all the way through.

The problem was that it was VERY MILD & really kind of bland. Totally NOT what you would expect from a corojo with a Nicaraguan filler. Oh well, it was never harsh or bitter, just kind of boring. The walk through the woods was fun though....

I don't know how well this came out, but we walked up on a doe & her two fawns playing in the river....

I have another of these sticks, so I may try it again or pass it to one of my BOTL's in my next "bomb" & let you guys try it out.

I got to experience a Perdomo ESV 91 yesterday for lunch. I was gifted one of the Connecticut wrapper version.

Whew...what a good cigar. It was spicy, somewhat intense in flavor and taste. I caught what I thought as a minty or tangy edge to it. A little stronger than I anticipated, but it made the afternoon bearable...

Cigars of Ybor/Havana Dreams custom rolls.
Smokers' Den custom rolls.

Don't know, yet, what tonight will hold. Maybe my custom roll from Tarpon Springs.

Still a "taste of Tampa", eh. Looks like a Perdomo night, as the Den has the smoker tonight. I do like the Bin 23 blend, and it's under $5 a stick.

Today I smoked the FREE Montecristo Churchill I got about a week ago and enjoyed the last of the Great Lakes Brewing IPA that Andy sent me.

Very nice pairing. Both were very tasty and loaded with flavor. I was sad to see it come to an end.

From the look of it, that is the new Montecristo Media Noche. Even CigarBid.com price is currently at $6 or up per stick.

After a long week, I relaxed on the deck with a Connecticut Yankee and a Killian's. The Yankee was a pretty good smoke. Mellow, and it was smaller than a robusto (don't know the exct term) but it was just right. My wife served some appetizers I had another Killian's.

Shrimp with Old Bay and steamed carrots and broccolli for dinner. did I mentioned the Killian's?? Rounded out a gret mel with a LaVieja Habana from Drew Estate. A hint of that "grassy" taste I railed on a few days ago. All in all, not a bad smoke, but I doubt I'll be looking for another one of these guys. The amaretto went well with the tail end of the cigar and the apricot struessel for dessert....

Ah...It's GOOD to be the King

After yessterday's Montecristo, I grabbed an ISOM Montecristo and a Curz Light. Yet another cigar disappointment. This cigar had terrible draw and it went out 2-3 times. More mulch forthe garden. I grabbed a Griffins Fuerte sent to me by Andy. Great draw and very interesting flavor. Not sure if I liked it or not. I have one more I got from Denny that I will need to smoke before deciding.

Had a Bucanero El Capitan last night. It was pretty good. Started spicy & ended mild & creamy. I give it a b/b- . I followed that up with a Camacho Triple Maduro. I got it for half price, as the guy working at the shop covered the difference between the Camacho ($16) & the Griffin I was going to buy ($9). I had trouble getting it lit (probably my fault) but the flavor was good. I had to put it down WAY early though, as my head was swimming. Too much of a good thing, I guess. Then followed those up with one of the best NY strips I have ever had! All in all a good night. But that little fight I lost to the Camacho has put me on a self-imposed cigar hiatis, probably only for a week or so, but it really hit me hard.
