Cohiba Corona Minor

Ok first off, yes I'm a newbie smoker. yeah, yeah, go ahead get it out of your system, laugh it off. Ok, now that that's out of the way. I was wondering what anybody thought of the cohiba corona minor? I read the review but, well, there wasn't much there. I've tried a few milder cigars but to be honest with you, to me they all taste somewhat bland. Just no distinct flavors at all just smoke. I realize that if you get a cohiba that is legal in the states your just payin' for the name on the band but I'd really like to try this cigar. What are ya'lls thoughts? Also any other recommendations?

Nobody here will do anything but welcome you, my friend. There are some great guys here & a few questionable ones, but we will let you figure out who they are on your own

As far as the Cohiba goes, I only smoke the original (okay i have had one ISOM Cohba...but it was great!!) If you want something with a bit more to it, here are a few suggestions:
5 Vegas 'A'
Griffin's Fuerte (My personal favorite)
La Aurora 1495
Cigar.com Cuban & Corojo Label (both are tasty & cheap!)

those are just suggestions. Cigar smoking is for fun, do what makes you happy Brother!!

I'm lookin' for somethin' that's rich in flavor but not too overpowering (nothing that has a really strong peppery zest to it though). I don't like a really tight draw but I don't want anything too easy either. And something with a smooth creamy smoke.

Try the 5 Vegas 'A'. It has all the things you are looking for & most sizes are less than $4 a stick.

Along those same lines try the Romeo y Julietta Maduro. Same price range, within a buck or two, with noticable cream and a definite chocolate undertone.

Welcome, Dusty.

As for suggestion, here are some of my favorite, in no particular order:

Cusano 18 Double Connecticut
Rocky Patel Edge Corojo
H Upmann Cameroon Vintage

When I am not sure what to smoke, these never fail to satisfy. And, I can smoke one after another.

Welcome to the group Dusty...

You will find us a good bunch that would never laugh at another, especially a newb. We have all been there before.

As far as few suggestions for cigars loaded with flavor, easy draw, creamy smoke, wont blow the top of your head off, and wont empty your wallet.

Rocky Patel Vintage 1990/1992
La Aroma de Cuba
Cuesta-Rey Centrofino Sungrown

Welcome Dusty. You'll find most of the guys and gals around here are quite harmless, OH they talk a mean fight..but most are pussycats...and VERY generous!

For something mild-medium with lots of flavor, try a Gurkha Vintage or a Punch Rare Corojo. Loaded with flavor and lots of smoke, but won't make you light-headed

Settle in and ask all the questions you can think of. There are years and years of experience around here (did I just call all you guys OLD??? hehehehe).

Ok so I had a chance to go to some of our local cigar shops this morning. I picked up one of the Romeo Y Julieta Reserve Maduro's. I got a chance to smoke it after lunch today and wow. It was a really great cigar (at least what I know of cigars so far). The best I've had so far. It actually kind of tasted like well a rich chocolate cake. Sorry if I offended anybody by using food tastes to describe a cigar. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to really finish it like I wanted to and had to stop when I got to the band.

I was also really lookin' forward to trying the 5 vegas series 'A' but evidently none of my local cigar shops carry them.

I would but, I'm only 18. Be 19 in February. And I thought turning 18 would open up so much more lol. Everything I can do now legally I was doin' before anyway.

Oh one more question. Cigar tubes, or cases or whatever that just hold like one cigar, how much longer would those keep a cigar compared to it just sittin in the cellophane. I don't have a humidor but I would actually like to build one. I've done alot of wood working and furniture building and stuff...Lol half the stuff in my house I built (it is a small house though).
