Bead Locations?
Well, I broke down and ordered two tubes and some 65rH beads from Heartfelt Industries this weekend since my other humidifiers were pretty unstable. I have a 75ct humidor with a tray and was wondering for people with similar humis, do you keep the beads in the lower section or on top in the tray? The other one is a standard 50ct humi so it'll just go in there with the sticks. I'm looking for best results here since I'm new to the beads.

Re: Bead Locations?
I have a 100ct humi and I actually bought 2 tubes for this humi. I keep one on the top tray and one in the bottom. If I only had one I would put the beads in the bottom and use the humidifier that came with it and continue to keep it on the lid. If in fact that is where it is currently mounted. Just my opinion, I may be way off though.

Re: Bead Locations?
i'm new to using beads as well. I have 1/4 lb on the bottom and a humitube on the top of my 100ct humidors. Mine have been staying at 65% to 70%. Hope this helps.

Re: Bead Locations?
Viper's beads will release moisture (until exhausted) if the ambient is less than the programmed humidity of the bead. Likewise, it'll absorb moisture until saturated if the ambient is above.
Logically, adding more beads will only increase the level of exaustion or saturation. i.e. you can put 10 pounds of 65% beads in a 25ct humi - it'll still only maintain 65%. So, if you put a tube upstairs and one downstairs, it'll only improve the humi's ability to maintain an even relative humidity. Ain't technology grand? GOD bless Viper! |
