Just make sure you have to leave the smoking room to access the bathroom. You don't want any bathroom "aromas" creeping in under doorways while your in there smoking (especially due to how much Skyline Chili/dip you and Nick obviously eat) .

Very impressive.

Why didn't you extend the smoking lounge all the way to the right, that would give you the space for a walk-in humidor and a wet bar.

Wet bar, not a refrigerator.

And, I don't think an aquarium in the smoking lounge is a good idea, just a thought.
I didnt extend all the way to the right because I am going to use that space for a bathroom/suana when the time and finances are right. I am still not sure about the tank I was going to talk to ol salty when the finances were right. The wet bar is a definate as well as the fridge. dont worry there is plenty of space. I cant wait to see the end result. I am really trying to not spare any expense with the finished project. I hope it turns out as cool as it is in my head.

Chris and I have been into Saltwater for years so you can ask us questions as well. l I have a 200 Gallon tank inwall in my basement. I have a wholesale license that I run a online buisness for selling Saltwater equipment, so I can hook you up when you are ready.

Sounds like you have a great plan.

Building a tank into a wall isn't that bad really. It's definitely helpful to make sure you've got room behind the tank for working on it, storage, etc...and tanks built flush to a wall look great IMO. Prior to my divorce, I'd built a 180g into a wall in the basement, the total system was about 400 gallons or so. It was just starting to turn into something nice when the marriage ended and I moved out. The biggest issue that I had, and should have planned better for, was humidity from evaporation. This could turn out to be an advantage though with a cigar room right beside it

+1 CRider on the room behind the tank. Although there are a great attraction to the room, it's a whole lot of work.

Saltwater tanks are more work in the beginning...but honestly, once it hits it's rhythm, it's not any more work than a nice freshwater tank in my opinion. The big difference is in startup costs. Rule of thumb is $30/gallon to get the tank up & running. There are some ways to shortcut this (going through Mark's account will help out quite a bit btw), but it helps give you a ballpark idea of what you're getting yourself into. Do the research in advance, before you spend any money, and you will save yourself a lot of money in not making "rookie" mistakes.

As long as you are ok with flushing a few hundreds of dollars of fish down the toilet when thing go wrong. You truely need to research what you are about to get into.

Certainly a possibility of course...I never really got into the uber-expensive fish myself. I lost more money in corals than I ever did in fish.

Salt water tanks are definitely more work in the beginning; even more money!! If you want to save a LOT of cash, buy the high end equipment from the get-go. If not, you usually end up buying everything twice. Once it's all set up, they are pretty much hands off (depending on how automated you choose to go.)

Ok sooooo I am a Slack ass and started this project back in Feb of 08. I got super busy, kinda broke, and my Dad who is the project leader has been pretty busy... Long story short, I got sick of smoking in the garage, and Nick got me a sweet smoke sucking fan for christmas (which I had been lacking) so I started the project back up. Here are some photos from todays progress. You guys saw the last pictures at the beginning of this thread. Today we got a ton done. Drywall on the the outside walls are complete. Both ventilation fans are up and working, inset light installed and working, and all the electric is hot. All i have to do now is finish the drywall on the ceiling and finish the mud and tape on the walls. Install some flooring (going with hardwood) and paint and decorate. Will be finished by months end.

Fans and Vents Will clear 300 CFM

Vents exiting the house

End of day shot
