Cigar Dave on Sirius

Sirius has changed around the channel line-ups. The 117 chalnnel that Cigar Dave was on is now the Grand Ole Opry. After a little searching, I found tthat they moved him to 144 Sirius Patriot. They good noews is you will be able to hear him live from on Saturdays. But they will proabaly preempt the show for sporting events half the time. Dont expect to listen to his show at all come Football Season!!!

That show is hard to digest sometimes.. One show I heard him say "this general does not smoke anything from Fidel that pinko commi bastard" On another show I heard one of the guys from Altadis reference that they were working on a blend to match a cuban that "the genereal" said he liked.. Well wait "general" I thought you didn't smoke cubans? Which is it. Anyway all of his recommendations come from his sponsers. it's all BS.. Also telling people to leave there wives, becuase they don't like the smell of cigars is just stupid.

Don't take him to seriously. He can be pretty funny and entertaining. He is just doing a Bad Rush Limbaugh Impression. But you do get to hear about some new cigars before they hit the market and news on smoking bans and taxes.

I wish there was a cigar-related show on XM. I e-mailed them months ago asking them if they had any cigar-related shows AT ALL, and they never got back to me.

Oh well, the Dog Watch Social Club satisfies my needs!

I'm a little P.O.'d, i was one of the callers on his Valentine episode (Feb 11th) and was suppose to get Gurkha's and a book, never received them yet.

I have been very lucky. I listen to his show and have recived several free samplers from him. He gets a bit full of himself but if I can get free stuff it's ok.

He is on America Right on XM every Saturday, I think from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. central time. I can only handle about 20 minutes, but he can be kind of funny.

We pick him up on a local Infinity affiliate, Saturdays, Noon 'till 2... An entertaining program, though I don't take it seriously... Kind of like a "Prairie Home Companion" for cigar lovers.

I just saw Dave yesterday when I was picking up a new pipe. I don't get to listen to his show often because I work weekends. When I did listen, I would have liked more cigars and less politics, but it's not my show.

I enjoy hearing Dave discuss cigars, smoking bans, industry scuttlebutt, and the occasional interview with a cigar manufacturer.

His best shows are when he broadcasts from the annual RTDA convention, where he interviews the luminaries of the cigar industry.

His other on-location shows are all about him having fun, and basically suck. Whenever he starts showcasing himself, just say no, turn off the radio, and enjoy a cigar in peace.

He often knows when new cigars are being released, and sometimes has them (often pre-release) in his monthly "Officers Club" selection. I highly recommend the Officers Club, but then I like getting to try new, unexpected, cigars every month.

I'm listening to Cigar Dave right now, streaming on 750 WFLA. I like the cigar info, but the rants on the pleasure police and rat pack get old.
