I found this place online http://www.cvtobacco.com/press/shop/CIGARS/cigars.html
They look like CT puros. I'm giving them a call tomorrow.

My apologies, didn't mean it the way it sounded.
Anyway, as far as I know there are no American made American puros, or any American puros for that matter. There are American rolled cigars that have some American tobbacco in them like the ones from Black Patch and Kentucky Gentlemen, but they also contain Dominican, etc. I checked w/ KG at one point and they were supposedly gonna produce an "American puro" using Conn Shade, Kentucky Broadleaf binder and their own Kentucky grown cuban seed, but it wasn't ready yet. No matter, after tasting their other smokes I'm not really interested. Like Chris, I thought they were nasty. The Black Patches I've had are, eh, OK I guess. I wouldn't hold my breath for a good American puro. The climate and soil just aren't right for a really good filler, IMHO. We do produce some very good wrapper - both Conn Shade and Broadleaf - tho' much of this is now grown in other countries from American seed. Chew, pipe and cigarette tobacco is king in America, and pretty much always has been. |

The Connecticut River valley isn't too far from my house. I may take a ride up there some day and see if there are any B&Ms that aren't online. I'll keep you all posted in the future.
Craig, you are right about the US climate. Not suitable for a good American puro.
