Re: $$$ spent on Cigars.

I keep telling myself I have enough I'm not buying anymore for a while. Then I see one that is available that I just have to add to the collection. I don't even want to think about how much I have been spending. It's too much but not enough at the same time.

Re: $$$ spent on Cigars.

Let's just say I went from 100 sticks at the end of '05 to over 900 now, averaging around 8.00/stick.

However, there's no way I could sustain this buy rate. For the past two months, I've been stocking the humidors. I'm pretty much set now. I just need to make periodic purchases to replenish stock as I burn through my stash.

Re: $$$ spent on Cigars.

I am buying a lot (for aging) but not smoking them, so these don't count...

I am smoking ~3 NCs & 2 cubans a week. I am trying to keep my consumption down to $1500/yr. Wish me luck ......

Re: $$$ spent on Cigars.

I'm avoiding looking at the final count myself. I think my timeing for seriousness matches yours. I think we're likely dollar for dollar although my last purchase prolly pushed me over that edge (damn you all for the slope metaphors... ) Admittedly though I think the initial investment tends to be high while you develop things. I truly and sincerely (yeah right) expect to stabilize my spending patterns. I would think 10 boxes or so of your fav smokes. When I get there. I'm slowing down...

I also have a nice piece of land for sale in Mexico if anyone is interested....!

Re: $$$ spent on Cigars.

Seems kinda tacky to talk about it.

Reminds me of when people make sure everyone knows how much the check is when they pick up dinner. My favorite line is, I forgot my glasses in the car, can you read the bill for me. Somehow they had no problem reading the menu though.

I'm not quite 2 months into the "hobby" and I have spent around $400 in cigars and accessories.

Re: $$$ spent on Cigars.

This month was about 200.00 ( Opus was releasaed)

However, I've yet to purchase a box, rather I've been buying singles of an assortment with effort to define my pallett.

Regularyly, I'll spend about $50-$80 / month, but I'v noticed an upward trend over the past two months.

Re: $$$ spent on Cigars.

I'm at about 1000 euros a year. I tend not to buy whole boxes because I like to try different stuff all the time. It's a bit more expensive that way...

Re: $$$ spent on Cigars.

before Cbid, it was maybe 20 a month. After cbid went on a spending spree in jan/feb so it was a total of 500 and a humidor. But can't spend anymore until after august (saving up for vacation). Or at least, I hope so. Those ISOMs are calling though. So 50-100 a month sounds about right now.
