I'm a Bahia fan, so I'm anxious to see how the new Bahia tastes.

Very thorough report. Thanks Kevin.

Ok, see if you guys can answer this. I dont really understand what is going on with the company that makes the Dona Flor Selecao. I do know they were under litigation for something and it was rumored no more were being reproduce. But from what the article said they are starting to produce them again. Is it the same blend made by a company that just changed its name or "merged"?

I really love those stogeys and you cant get them anymore. Im hoping you can now.

Good question. I'll see what I can find out. It probably won't be until Monday though.

The manufacturer in Brazil made the mistake of allowing the U.S. distributor to register the name in the U.S. The distributor, it would appear, has not lived up to their contractual commitments, and the manufacturer will no longer produce the cigars and send them to the distributor.

The distributor claims the brand as theirs, and is claiming they are having them made by another manufacturer. There are six (6) cigar manufacturers in Brazil, and upon investigation, not one of them is making Dona Flor for the U.S. Distributor.

There is, however; a brand new Brazilian cigar now introduced in the U.S.

Send me his name and address, I will get some of the Monte Pascoal cigars sent to him gratis. If he likes them, I can tell him where to obtain them, via mail order, from Miami, until they are in wider distribution throughout the U.S.
I guess it pays to read the articles here and ask questions.

I need your address Nick.
