Cigar Names etc etc BlahBlah?

Being new and what not, I HAVE noticed in videos and on here people who say...this is the, for example, Limited Edition Cohiba #2 made by Daniel something etc etc....the names confuse me big time. Also I think there are different names for the same cigar but Im not sure. As I said, Im CONFUSED

Can you guys make it a little more simple for me?

Well I cant... There are just too many out there. The longer you are in this hobby the more you will learn and understand. What I can tell you is that usually there is a brand name IE Cohiba, the there is usually a line name IE special edition... Then there is usually a size which can be contributed to either a name or a number... IE #2 is usually the size of that particular line..

Another example would be

CAO as the Brand....... Italia: would be the line of cigar within the brand... and Ciao would be the size with in the line..

If you are still confused ....(which I would be) just remember patients young grasshopper... You will understand with a little time.

^^^ What Jimmy said. The problem I had/have is that every company uses different names for the same thing. Sizes in particular drive me nuts. One company's Robusto can be another company's Toro...and they're damn near the exact same size! Eventually though, you'll just sorta get used to the different company's and especially the ones that you tend to like the best.

In general you've got "common" names for various sizes based on length and ring gauge: Churchill, Toro, Robusto, etc. Differant lines though will give assign differant names to play along with their line as Jimmys' CAO example illustrates.

Fair enough. I think I'll spend a long time in the cigar shop next time I go.

Nick, my brother........
Say what you will about cA, and I'll probably agree. However, the Kevin Costner photo.......
The last two Friday's at the "shop"(Smokers Den) we've had the picture and have been "fooling" around. We are able to cut a torp at such an angle that the one side looks uncut, like the photo, but the other side is cut for smoking.
Not shittin' ya here. And a couple of the guys like the cut, too. I'm not much of a torp guy, so......

I KNOW! I was all "look at this shit" to Angelo the owner. He walked over to the humi, grabbed a torp, cut it when I wasn't looking, came over and held it the way Costner did. Then, he "rotated" it, and I was like DAMN!
