LMFAO! That's actually good news. You can go into your profile and turn off that feature, or I can do it for you.

Here's the story. When I first set up the forums over 3 years ago, in an effort to bring life to the new empty board, I set the default on all accounts to get automatic emails with thread updates. I have left it that way ever since.

With all the darn spam out there, ISP's have tightened up so much that legit mails don't go through, especially when they can tell it's automated php mail from a forum.

Bellsouth mistakenly blacklisted the Cigar Review server which annoys me even more than getting PMs. I was ready to go postal as it can be difficult to get off the blacklist, even if you don't belong there in the first place.

Thanks to my real good server tech, it seems he was successful getting us off Bellsouth's list.

I got us off AOL's blacklist, but I think we are still having problems with gmail accounts.

This problem effects sign-ups at MyCigarFriends too.

The timing was funny on that. Let me know if you need help turning off the feature. Just don't PM me whatever you do.

Kevin, I use gmail and I get thread notifications, pm notification emails, etc.

I'm on Gmail also and I've had no problems..... I even get notices on my phone with no problems.....

Maybe I was mistaken on that one. I just noticed that many of the unverified accounts in MCF had gmail addys.

Kevin, could that be more a result of spambots signing up on the board with bogus or unmonitored email accounts?
