A=Alcohol
T=Tobacco
F=Firearms

ATF will involve in investigation relating to selling alcohol and tobacco to minors, and illegal firearm sales, whatever those definitions are. (I am too lazy to look it up since I am an adult, and none of these would apply to me. )

If the matter is involving in unpaid tobacco tax due to internet sales as mentioned, it would involve the state/county/city/local's finance and taxation department.

ATF has no jurisdiction over state/county/city/local tax issue, even if it is related to alcohol and tobacco, providing the transaction is not illegal.

If this is not accurate, someone please correct me.

Sounds about right to me? I mean, CBid, who needs the money, has 10's of thousands of customers? I know in Florida, you are suppose to send to the state the sales tax that you should have paid IF you bought them in state?

Actually, the ATF does have secret agents that go through your trash, looking for receipts of purchases for online cigar buyers. You gotta be careful though, cuz these guys are tricky!

*flashing badge* Sir, I'd like to ask you a few questions regarding a recent online purchase you made for popcorn.

This whole thread is a little fishy to me. I mean on one hand you have someone who is presenting, what appears to be an honest question, but isn't forth coming with a few answers to simple clarification questions. Unless I missed 'em.

On the other hand there is a stone thrown at a Senior member of this board simply because he is throwing a BS flag up and someone is a bit thin skinned. C-Man has been around a little while (no pun intended) and probably has a gut feeling that just comes with experience. If his gut turns out to be wrong he's man enough to own up to it otherwise he is not one to stir the pot to stir it.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not one to take crap from anyone either but I would go about making my point (and presence) a little differantly and a bit more respectful especially if I'm the Newby in the hen house.

I'm aware of ATF coming into a local shop, here in Florida. Come to think of it, they MAY(?) have something to do with the state as the shop owner was accused of selling ALCOHOL without a license, which he would get from the state?!
He wasn't, so nothing happened. Also of interest to them is whether the roller over there in the corner is "licensed" as there is a federal tax to pay at the manufacturing level.
