Real Beginner to the forum

Hi everyone. My name is Keith and I'm 25. I hate smoking cigs etc....but really got into cigars a few months ago. I've been browsing the forums for a while now and have taken some advice from here and bought some cigars that I've grown fond of. Anyway, I'm a Pre-med student and love the typical guy things (sports and poker especially). Hope to meet you all and learn A LOT while I'm here. Thanks

Hey Keith, welcome to the forum! What smokes have you found so far that you like/dislike? There's a few poker fans here...I'm in the learning stage myself, but really trying to learn Hold'em and see if I can get my play to the next level.

Welcome to the forum Keith! Always good to meet a fellow cigar smoker! I am fairly new to the forum as well and I think you will find it to be very fun and informative! I love poker too and I play in a pretyt good size home game every month. Let us know what cigars you like, I think you will see that everyone here has varying tastes. Me personaly, I like maduros and med/full flavored, but I do on occasion smoke mild ones. Great to have you here bro!

well excuse me if I don't use the correct lingo and/or terms but I'll try and explain.....
I hate the smell of cig smoke so when I started out, I wanted to try a more mild cigar. I've asked a buddy who smokes a little and also talked to 3 different cigar shop owners about what types to try. So I've went on their advice. I've also read a lot of reviews from the board too. I've only tried a few and just recently started writing a log to keep up with them.
Romeo Y Juliet Haberno Reserve-I really liked this one. It was the first one that I actually liked. In my log, I rated it a 3.5/5
I also tried a few other Romeos and liked several.
Macanudo Hampton Court- I really liked this one the best out of the ones I've tried 4/5.
I also tried my very first cigar which was recommended by the shop but forget the name. I'm wanting to say it's Butera or something like that. I know it starts with a "B". Anyway, I didn't like it too much. 2.5/5
Lastly, I tried a Fuente cigar. I believe it was an 858. I really liked this one as well. I started to enjoy it during a football game when I was relaxing....then started to get stressed out about the game and was too "into" the game to realize that I smoked the entire cigar without really savoring the "taste". lol. But it was pretty good. 3.5/5

So.....I'm still searching for that 5/5 cigar.

First off welcome to the board! May I recommend a few sticks for you? These are a few of the milder cigars that I first started out on and still love to this day.

Perdomo Lot 23 (the Maduro or the Natural both are fantastic)
Cigar International Legends Red Label (also by Perdomo)
CAO Gold

I know that many others will have different opinions for a smokin' newby, these are just some that popped into my mind when you stated you were looking for the 5/5...hope that helps

If you want PM me your snailer, I may know where you can get a "sampler"

CAO Gold is definitely a "golden" choice.

Also an H. Upmann 1844, i believe those are along the same lines.

Keith, don't worry about the lingo, just enjoy the cigar! Was it possibly a Baccarat or a Bachus?

Good mild cigars:
CAO Gold
Oliveros
R&J 1875 Medalist
Cusano 18
Griffins

Just to name a few!

And lol @ drew

Lol I would but I am not prepared with the proper gear at the present time! And the Patriot Defense system went off..... Mmmmmmm wonder why?

On a side note, why won't my signature show or is it and I can't see it? I created it in profile, and all settings are correct, does it have to go in a specific format?
