Best Humi device

Just got my first big (300 ct.) humidifier, and am wondering if the two rectangle-lid mounted-humidification devices that came with it will do the job, or if I should use something you guys would recommend

Your humidity there runs around 10 - 15 percent on average. I would look into heartfelt humidity beads....

http://www.heartfeltindustries.com/

They keep your humidity about as steady as anything, baring an Oasis or such..... Just my opinion, ya unnerstand...

I second the beads. I haven't invested in 'em yet, but EVERYONE I've talked to swear by them.

I have a 300 ct as well and do not live in a place anywhere near as dry as AZ and my humi needed a jar of beads in each drawer, the two rectangular humidifiers only regulate the top section of the humi.

Bead, beads, beads........ especially with your arid conditions. This past May, June and July were among the driest on record for our mountain and foothill region of NC. Consequently we had long runs of 20% or less humidity. The beads in my desktop and large coolerdor kept things copacetic with a minimum of putzing. Just to confuse matters a little, not sure how much difference one bead type makes over another.

One of the first posts I made on this site was an inquiry about the use of, umm, ahh, "diaper beads" in a humidor. No one seemed to know for sure. Soooooo..... for my coolerdor I have been using for the past six months wedges of fresh clean, no perfume disposable diapers in perforated soap dishes in addition to Humicare rectangular humidifiers. This is a large coolerdor, 110 quart, and is close to full but with room for air to circulate and maybe another box or three. So far I have noticed no difference in the frequency with which I have to recharge the "diaper beads" over the real deal beads and the hygrometer very consistently stays at 67-69%. FWIW. WMBSAAN (which may be shit and all nothing).

I like the humi-care crystal jars. The dummy lines telling me when to fill and the fact they keep humidity well for about a month at a time sold me on them.

I agree with the beads, they are awesome.
I opened the rectangle humidifiers that came with my humi and removed the oasis foam from inside of them and replaced it with the beads. That way the original rectangle cases are in there with my humidification device of choice.

I have been using Madeline beads in both humis, and find that they are much better/easier to use/fill than the standard sh!t/stuff that comes with them.

i may be a little late chiming in but i recently made the jump to heartfelt beads. i bought a pound of them, i cant remember how much they were because i ordered a few other thing at the same time...(less than $20) then i went to the grocery store and bought a pair of white panty hose. divided the beads up and made four "mesh" panty hose bags of beads. i have one bag in my 50 count humi along with the humi puck soaked in polu solution. (my beads are the 65% ones. the nice thing is you cant over humidify with them. i could put the hole pound in if i wanted and they would absorb excess humidity, or expel it if needed. it makes checking the humidity a once a couple weeks to a once a month and a half or so chore.

i wish i spent the money earlier.

just remembered, i put the other three bags of beads in my coolerdor along with the floral foam soaked in poly solution.

spend the money.... and now heartfelt has pucks and cases just for their beads for velcro-ing to the top of your humidor or whatever you need.

only thing i have bad to say about the company was they sent them parcel post in a padded envelop and it took a week to get to me. not sure why but i was expecting a box and a little faster service. but im just being petty.

I have the 65% beads in both of my 150 count humi's and 70% beads in my 400 count. The small ones just have normal oasis in them and run around 62%....

Talked to Heartfelt today and ordered (at their suggestion) four 70%
tubes, and will try two in the top and two in the bottom.
