Yup, reading this experience has reminded me why I don't do business with Thompson; although I enjoy their catelog.

There are plenty of other folks out there who will be more than happy to provide you with cigars: Cigar International, Cigar.com, JR Cigars, Corona Cigars, and Famous are just a few that come to mind.

I won't mail order anything through Thompson, but I get into Tampa about once a month, and if they are running a good deal on something I want, I'll go in to pick it up. But just like their "shady" mail order dealings, not everything is available at their retail store.

True Story:

I wanted to pick up a sampler. 30 premium sticks(not their brand) for $49. I went into the store, and was told the item I wanted was mail order only. So I said to the guy, your entire operation is right here. Please go over to the warehouse and get what I want.

remember, I am not making this up, true story:

He tells me, I can get it for you from the warehouse, but it will take 3 days to get it here.

The warehouse was 100 feet away.

Needless to say, I hardly ever go there anymore, actually I haven't been there since that incident.....
