WTF Thompsons?

Just got another catalog from Thompsons and thumbed through it. WTF is up with their prices?

This the the only catalog I get that doesn't provide the MSRP verse their price on the cigars....ever wonder why? 'Cause they meet or exceed MSRP! $117 for a box of Cedro Deluxe 2??? Wow.....

With as much competition available now a days I'm surprised they are able to operate with thier prices as high as they are....

Just wanted to shoot that out for the benefit of our "NOOBS"

at the back they had 6 packs of different sticks...the thing that caught my eye was RP vintage 1990 toro for 19.95

but ive heard their quality isnt that good...and if i scour cbid long enough i could get a box for $60

CI, and cbid have me broke enough...let alone another company getting a peice of the pie

I have ordered cigars from Thompson's before, the quality is ok certainly had no issues but pricing was not very good. Famous and CI seem to have much better pricing. Thompsons definately does have good pricing on their humidors, and the quality is top notch. Plus they hound you to join their club if you call! So I say order ur humi's from them but let Famous, CI, Cbid, or Cigar Auctioneer stock them!

I've mentioned here before and not got much of a response. Does anyone else here get the Holt's catalog? They're out of Penn. and when I order by phone the sticks are on my door step 2 days later. The quyality has always been very good. Just throwing that out there.

After I told Thompson's to cram their cigar club up their heinie, the nice lady from Thompson's called me up on the phone and kissed my ass enough for me to agree to put my Cigar Club membership "on hold" until March. Since it's too damn cold to smoke many cigars now anyway ( ), seems kind of pointless to just keep piling in inventory. I've got a good 100 cigars. That seems like enough for me.

Speaking of their prices, what do you guys think of $75.00 for ten of those Arturo Fuente "Grand Salute" Sungrown? I thought maybe I'd buy those for myself for Christmas.

And to their credit, Thompson's DID toss me some free Cusano Sungrowns.

That was nice.

Don't know why people go anywhere else. Cigar International (cigarintl.com, cigarbid.com, cigar.com) is the shit. Period. The service is top notch, the prices at cbid are insane and they have great 1-day-deals/joe's deal.

The only drawback I see is lack of high-end cigars. Cigar.com does carry them, but is a bit limited. However, I don't think any of us by '26 & '64s on a weekly basis, but I could be wrong.

I don't shop anywhere else. MAYBE Famous-Smoke from time to time, but thats just because the store is local to me as well.

OK, I got my "finger" emoticon wish.

Now, I wish that CRider's avatar would be the "official mascot" for the CR Clubhouse when we transition over to that Puff.com thing.

Man, that thing cracks me up.

People passing my office think I have lost my mind, sitting here giggling.

You and me both. I work with one (1) other US citizen... period. He's my boss. Everyone else I interact with on a daily basis knows about 30-50 English words. I feel like an alien unable to communicate with those around me.
