this is the dumbest crap i've ever heard of. Everyone going to a cigar bar is going there with the express intent of smoking cigars. It's not like it's mixed company with non-smokers. alcohol is way more unhealthy than cigars. This whole thing really pisses me off.

And non-smokers wonder why I don't give a shit about what they have to say to me when I'm relaxing with a cigar......
Do people still study history? Does Prohibition ring a bell with anyone? Didn't work the last time the Government tried to "help us"...this will eventually fall to the same fate. Word to the wise non-smokers (who maybe reading this thread)...[size=7]If you don't smoke cigars...stay the hell out of the cigar bar! If you wanna make an arguement to justify this crap than try something better than "It's unhealthy"[/size] There is a reason we pay higher insurance if we smoke......now leave us the hell alone. Ok, off my rant.  |

I agree that the whole smoking ban thing is ludacris!! The government taxes the hell out of us than tell us where we can and can't smoke. It is unhealthy, but certainly is healthy enough when they need to generate tax dollars, makes me sick! I would never impose my smoking on a non smoker, but a cigar bar means just that! Why would a non smoker eveb go there or even get a job there?

Nice article Kev, but gotta disagree with you in that it's a victory for us. The fact that they had the gall to pass it despite the protest and the fact that "they can" is not a victory. Watch this be the model law (as often these things are) for other cities/states. CRA needs to ramp it up.

I didn't think it would go through
I guess in ten years people will calm down and be more worried about cell phone cancer and let the cigar bars sneak back in silently or they'll turn the extension into a permit and have the bars licensed and compliant to certain standards (ventilation etc)
