New puff.com launch web site

I just went to the newly launched puff.com web site. It looks very slick, with a gajillion ads and neat looking articles and videos on the home page. When you go to forums, however, I didn't see any of the forums that were sold to puff.com. In other words, all I saw were the same topics that we have here, seemingly all blended together.

What that seems to mean, at first glance, is that we will get thrown into one big homogenized group, with people from everywhere else. Will we lose our tight bond? Apparently so. It seems we'll be little fish in a big pond.

I hope this is not true. Kevin, please shed some light.

I stopped by earlier this morning. What is there now, in terms of discussion boards, is the orginal Club Stogie. As noted, this was the first site to be migrated over to puff.

I suspect that that as the sites get pulled over the format (presentation) of the forum will change to align with the grand vision: Public section and Clubhouse section.

Related, I did fish around a bit and was pleased with the information that is available so far: reviews, blogs, video's, etc.

If you haven't been over there yet, make it a point to swing by. Looks pretty damn neat!

It took a little longer for the forums to start up. They are there now. One problem. We have a waiting period before we can post. I say bull shitl

Why do I have the sinking, sneaking feeling that I'm not going to like puff.com?

Even the colors.

Cold.

And "unfriendly".

Maybe I should just delete myself?

Because they started it off with CS. If the start up was with CR the place would be on fire by now. Get to work and get CR on there. How was it decided who's forum got on first anyway.
Was this again a show of the mighty $$$$$ at work.

Yeah, I dunno.

The major "appeal" of CR (when I lurked) was the preponderance of military dudes, looked like law enforcement personnel maybe, you know, "men of substance". I just don't want some pimply-faced punk kid telling me my taste in cigars BLOWS. Somebody holding a military machine gun or grenade launcher...hey...maybe them I can respect.

Eh, we'll give it a try I guess.

Or else somebody will FOR SURE steal my "HRPuffinStuff" moniker.

Brian,

I spotted the Cheese ad too... or more accurately the "Chesse" ad since the boneheads at Google Ads can't apparently spell cheese correctly.

I've been posting about this topic on the Sticky thread about the Puff.com rollout or whatever that one is titled.

I have a bad feeling about this.

Gotta go with Barbarian here. Confusing. Yup for me too. No political discussions? What's up with that? I felt like a much more informed voter this last election in large part due to exchanges and links provided by forum members on CR. Yup discussions got heated at times with some folks, but that's the nature of things that you are passionate about. We are all mature adults here so you can't talk about this??? Come on, gimme a break.

Politics - gone.

Religion - gone.

Posts about Cuban cigars - gone.

Half nekkid bikini babes - gone.

I just soptted this in the new rules section:

Quote:
Pictures that would be considered NSFW (not safe for work) fall in the category of "unwanted postings" on PUFF.com. .... Pictures posted on PUFF.com that fall into the category of NSFW will be removed by the Board Moderators at their discretion and the Member responsible for such posting will be notified of the decision via Private Message. Possible infractions may occur as a result against the user who originated the post.
JTokash - gone (not because of the lack of women but this is turning out to be too Cuban for my taste).
