Cu-Avana deals - opinions?

CI has some crazy deals on boxes of Cu-Avana cigars - both regular and maduro. $34.95 for a box of 20 robustos seems like quite the deal.

Cu*Avana - Cigars International

Seems to be in the mild category. My taste leans to the likes of Punch, but I occassionally hanker for a mild, creamy stick or maduro.

I've never had these and was wondering what some of your opinions were.

Thanks.

Jim

Re: Cu-Avana deals - opinions?

Hey Jim. Cu-Avana just do not carry enough body or flavor for my taste. I don't mind a mild or creamy smoke from time to time, however the Cu-Avana lines have always left me dissapointed. As far as construction goes, they are made pretty well and burn decent. I have friends who only smoke cigars on occation and they really like these so I've kept some around as hand outs in the past. The price is right, but I always reach for something else when it comes to myself.

Hope this helps.

Re: Cu-Avana deals - opinions?

Thanks for the input. I know deep down that I should just spend the extra bucks for a really good mild when I want one. I've reached the stage of my life where I don't have cigars often, so I try to splurge when I do and really enjoy the experience.

But sometimes that deal hunter deep inside gets the best of me.

Don't kid yourself. If you are looking for a really good Mild smoke this will not disappoint you. I have purchased about 6 boxes of these over the years and never had a complaint. Great Burn, nicely packed.

The deal isn't all that great though. I generally pick them up on C-Bid for about 35 bucks for a torp box.

Give them a shot but keep in mind that they are pretty mild.

PM me your address and I'll send you a few to try.

Munt!

Thumbs down Re: Cu-Avana deals - opinions?

I would stay away from them unless you really like an "ultra-mild" cigar. I am a fan of mild cigars, unlike many here, and these were way to light for me. I found out that they are cheap for a reason...

Just my $.02

I'm right there with you on that struggle. If your checking out CI anyway, I'd look through their 5 pack madness page. They have some pretty decent smokes for a good price.

Ex. = 5 Vegas Gold 5 pack for $15.

IMHO these are a great mild smoke and it's hard to beat that price.

Good Luck!

((They also have Cu-Avana 5 packs incase you still want to try them without committing to a box))
