Quintero (Honduras)

I remembered that Quintero Churchill made CA Top 25 a few years ago and I saw that the robusto also got a 92 rating. Now, I take CA rating with a grain of salt BUT I do remember having a Quintero Churchill (Natural) a couple years ago and enjoying it very much.

It's kind of hard to find any information on this cigar. I'm thinking of trying it again because a
box of the robustos can be had for less than $60 (JR). So...what do you guys think?

Re: Quintero (Honduras)

I bought a bunch of these Robusto's because of the rating, the price & my B&M suggested them. I always have at least a couple on hand at all times.

I've now had two myself; the first one I quite enjoyed; the 2nd wasn't as great but probably just a bad one in the bunch. I'd pull the trigger on a box, why the heck not!

A gorgeous, box-pressed robusto with an oily wrapper. The smoke is a pleasantly rich balance of earth, cocoa and wood that carries cedar notes on the finish.

Re: Quintero (Honduras)

I bought a box of the Churchills right after the CA rating came out, spring 2006. They were box pressed and slightly too large for the box and the lid wouldn't fit all the way down. I smoked a couple and never could get them to burn straight and that drives me a little nuts. So they are still sitting in the humidor. Maybe I'll have to break one out and give it another try.

I have had a box of the Maduro robusto for about a year,..think I have about 5 left.
A very good full bodied smoke. At the same time I bought a Box of Quintessa Robusto- have smoked them all, but cant find them anymore?

Re: Quintero (Honduras)

Quintero is a freakin great value. I always recommend it to fellow smokers that want a great $5 cigar. I have not had a bad one yet.

Great post for a great cigar.

Re: Quintero (Honduras)

I bought a couple of boxes of toros back in 2002 when JR was closing them out. I smoked most of one box and put the other one away. I really enjoyed everyone that I smoked and haven't had a bad one yet. I'm going to have to smoke another one as soon as the weather breaks and I can sit down, take my time and really enjoy it

Re: Quintero (Honduras)

Hahaha! Hm... What to do if I don't have enough room in the humi? lol I kinda estimated the amount of room I have, but oh well I've outgrown my current one once already until the past 2 weeks going down the shore with friends and handing out cigars like they were candy lol! And heck yeah man, that free shipping link really sweetens the deal! Man I really need to get a job to fund this damn hobby/habit... Say, would a hobby/habit then be... A HOBBIT??? Haha ok I'm done.

That is some funny stuff. Should check these threads more often. Anyone tell me how this "BUMP" thing works?
