RIP Bob Wilkins of Creature Features
Who? You'd only know him if you grew up in Northern California during the late 60's / early 70's.
What does this have to do with cigars? If you know who Bob was, you can't imagine him without a cigar. Bob Wilkins hosted Creature Features, the late-night B-movie show in the Bay/Sacramento area. Horror, Sci-Fi, you name it. He was a proto Mystery-Science-Theatre-3000. He also hosted a cheesy kids afternoon cartoon show as "Captain Cosmic". He was also one of the first to introduce Japanese Anime to the airwaves in the 70's. I can still remember rushing home from school to see Ultraman. His late night show was filled with bone-dry humor, and he always had a huge (dog-rocket) cigar. Staying up way past your bedtime watching movies you weren't supposed to be watching was one of my fondest childhood memories. Hope you are smoking Cubans wherever you are Bob!
