Cigar shops in Detroit
I am going to Detroit to a Red Wings game in a couple weeks. Are there any good shops near Joe Louis Arena? We wont have lot of time to drive around the city, so Im looking for just shops in the area around the arena.
Thanks, Tim

Re: Cigar shops in Detroit
Hopefully you go home disappointed with the result of the game
![]() Anyway, for shops near Joe Louis, check out: Walter's Pipe Shop 122 W. Lafayette Blvd. Detroit, MI They have a walk-in humidor. I don't remember much about the selection. Renaissance 500 Tobacco Shop 500 Renaissance Center #111 Detroit, MI Clearly, inside the Renaissance center. Also, for your smoking pleasure, I believe the Post Bar on Larned is cigar friendly. It is about a block from the Joe. There are a few other locations I could point you to if you want anything more. Happy smoking! |

Re: Cigar shops in Detroit
Thats awesome, thanks. Im gonna try and hit those shops when Im there. As far as the game goes, Im really neither a Detroit or Colorado fan, so I dont really care who wins. Im going on a road trip with 5 other friends, we're just going to party it up in Motown.

Re: Cigar shops in Detroit
My pleasure. And it just occured to me, but the Post is on Congress, not Larned. It is still only a block or so from the Joe, but I mixed up the street.
I assumed you were coming into town for a game with the Habs, but since you are a neutral for the Colorado game, I hope you enjoy it. |

Re: Cigar shops in Detroit
If you have the time and inclination... straight North on I-75 to Rochester Road Exit (next after 14 mile road), turn right at exit, turn right again at light which is Big Beaver (or 16 Mile Road - there's a Hooter's on the corner). There's an industrial looking complex on your right a couple hundred yards down where the Cigar Factory Outlet of Troy resides - this is the largest walk in humidor East of the Mississippi. Smoking lounge, coffee, soda and water available. Traffic permitting its about a 30-45 minute drive from downtown.
