I agree. What is wrong with bundles and the old carboard boxes? Those you could just throw away without even thinking about. I like the R&J Aniversarios and they come in a nice box. So I hold onto them to hand out to friends as temp/starter humidors, but it tends to clog my closet.

I buy the cigars for the cigars not the boxes.

I thought about buying refills, but it turns out that the cost per stick stays them same. What is up with that???

Ok guys we are going to find out once and for all! I am mailing alot of you these.

I am packaging them up right now and they will ship out Monday. Now we can see what everyone thinks. They will be coming to you in a bubble wrap envelope and the cigar will be in a plastic bag inside of that. I will get the envelopes ready and Monday morning I will put the cigars in them.

I want to wait until monday so I can leave them in the humi until the last possible second. I really can't wait till you guys get these. Almost like a blanket herf across the board.

Thanks Guys,
Stogie

Thanks Stogie, what a kewl thing to do!

You might want to add some cardboard or something to make sure the bubblewrap envelope has some stiffness. Don't want those nice cigars all bent up!

That is a really cool gesture. A group review would be really interesting.

Price increases

Someone mentioned prices going up soon. FYI, in the last month or two, several have already raised their wholesale prices, including JC Newman/Fuente, Cusano and Camacho. It isn't huge but think about a quarter a stick more retail for a $3-5 stogie. If you haven't seen them yet, you will when the stocks are reordered.

As the concensus seemed to be on the show back when the press releases came out on this, we like slick packaging as much as the next guy, but the proof is in the product. If the presentation turns a $4 cigar into a $10 cigar, I'd rather you bundle it and I'll buy two bundles. A Tupper'dor doesn't need neon to keep stogies comfy.

Rob, I am with you 100% on that one! If the packaging is also directed towards people buying boxes, then I guess having another "cool" humidor for your sticks isn't all that bad. At what cost though?

I dunno how much of their sales on this stick will be box only, vs singles or maybe 2-5 sticks. I know that there is no way I am buying a box of these to sample. And, if that is the case, it seems kinda silly to have a humidor box for the Vision. Why? Well, because in order to merchandise the cigars, almost all cigar shops will keep the boxes open in their walk-ins. I am also someone who enjoys CAO cigars as well. That being said, the whole idea of this Vision concept neon humi seems silly to me. JMHO.
