Billet Cigar Holder Prototype

Here are some pics of a billet cigar holder I was sent by a buddy of a new prototype. I will be working with him to get the sizes and dimensions right for todays popular cigars. ex. Robustos

Any feedback I hear from you guys will be sent back to him. He wants to keep the price of these down to aroung $30 and will let CigarLive do a group purchase later once they are perfect.

Currently these are made out of billet aluminum and can be anodized any color. As most know I was not impressed with what I could find anywhere so I contacted my buddy about these.

He sold about fifty of these for weddings and gifts but I think we can improve on them.

These look incredible! They look pretty rugged, but what do you think about the weight of them?

They look cool, but, having had a few holders, there is always the problem of (1) weight, (2) where to stick it <shh>, (3) the smell when you put a partially smoked cigar in it and then take it back out to finish, and (4) geting stopped by the cops who think it is a weapon!

I wouldn't spend anywhere near $30 for these. The "cigar savor" is pretty rugged and can be had for under $10. I also buy plenty of cigars that come in glass and metal tubes. I keep several sizes just for carrying one in my shirt or jacket pocket. Sorry, I don't want to be a kiljoy, but valid remarks none the less I believe.

I think it's an unfair comparison based on the materials and the craftsmanship but to each his/her own though.

Really cool looking. I'd be willing to give one a test run.

Making a price comparison is unfair, especially when there are so many on the market, some metal, some plastic, some a combo, and most different.

What one would pay seems to be the poster's point, and that is always something subjective, and usually correct for that person.

I had a metal one which was absolutely fantastic, cost $50.00, and was heavy, air tight, came in several colors, and did, without question, serve as a handy weapon, if the situation ever arose.

I also have a few sterling silver ones which I bought from Aristoff, when they went out of business in Beverly Hills, several years ago. They are attractive but, if I had to pay retail, they would not be in my collection.

I'll give you the ultimate upgrade to those tubes that will make them a best seller. On the tubes have you buddy add interlocking sections so you can add a tube or remove a tube. When those go big, just remeber who gave you the idea.

Heck I should have pattened this! But if it's big we will all remeber who came up with it.

Ahh, nice idea Erik! The ability to make one tube into 2 or say 3 tubes, would be neat.

Looks like a neat "toy." My customers are always asking me to find new toys. As they used to beat into my head, "You may control the costs, but the market sets the price."
