I see what you're doing!!

Squid currently has a completely new collection of cigars, with only a very few exceptions. In restocking (not completed yet) I'm going to fill my Huge-a-dor first, and keep the coolerdors filled with full boxes, which I hope to let sit quietly for some time. I have no problem staying away from the coolerdor, as I've got multiple boxes of some of my favorites. Some I even have in storage and none in my stock of available smokes.
I differ with some opinions that the non-Cubans don't age well or can be over-aged. I like bold full-flavored cigars mostly, and when these age for five years or so they become very nice in my opinion...

Everything gets put away for at least a year before I touch them again.
(That is... when I can resist my temptation to fire one up).

Rather than re-invent the wheel, Squid® has decided to re-visit one or two of the old Polls to see if there might be some renewed interest from folks who didn't see them the first time around...

Exactly my situation too! I'm really hoping to eventually get into some of the ones in the back of the humi and find some plume/bloom.

I'm trying to age some cigars right now. Nothing special like a 1926 or an Opus, just cigars like the Java, 601, and a Torano. I just want to see if aging makes them any better. They won't be in my box for more than a year though.

I haven't had the pleasure of aging any cigars as I haven't really purchased any that are worth aging.

I don't age cigars, as I like strong, edgy cigars. Putting age on them just take the edge off and makes them milder, which for my preference, is counter productive. I don't consider anything under two years as ageing. Over the last couple years, I have been gradually reducing my inventory, and have gotten it down to around a thousand, which keeps me at under a year of age which is where I like it.

I have some GOF's I'm saving for the day I pay off the building that my business is in. That's about 6 years off. Should be pretty tasty. I'm also looking to do some trading for some Forbidden-X to do the same with my home mortgage.
![]() So if any of you are hoarding the ellusive Forbidden-X's that want an ashtray..........![]() |

I agree as I have some Opus that have been aging since 2002 and after 5 years these cigars rival anything I have ever smoked.

I have a Camacho Liberty that a friend gave me and I have no intentions of smoking it before a year is up. Everything else is pretty much bought and smoked relatively quickly.
I am relatively new to the cigar game and don't yet have the room to age any. I will be grabbing the next cheap 48 bottle wine cooler I see on Craigslist to make my big wine-ador and will start thinking about buying boxes to age. |

I age them in fiver's. I am hoping to get to a point that I can age in boxes. The problem is that I have not built up my self control to that point.

Well, i mostly age cheap cuban cigars like the Jose L. Piedras. I use preserving jars for aging. Others put up fruit, i put up stogies
. Might need to get some stickers with the boxing date on those...Kilian |
