Poseur to the extreme

Had an interesting experience at my B&M yesterday.

Was reading and smoking a cigar when in walks Joe Corporate in his Armani suit. He walks into the humidor and grabs a 10 box of Feunte Masterpiece’s, pays for them, and then sits down in the chair beside me and proceeds to light one up. He whips out his cell phone and calls one of his important contacts. Literally the first words out of his mouth during the call were “While I am sitting here smoking a Feunte…”. He then went on to use some variation of the phrase “smoking a Feunte” at least 6-7 times during his 15 minute conversation. It took me a while but I finally figured out what he was doing…he was verbalizing his cigar band. Because his friend could not see him he had to put the band into words so that he could show off. Talk about a poseur to the extreme! I was going to point out to him that Feunte also makes really inexpensive cigars so just saying “Feunte” is not all that impressive but why bother….gave me a good laugh anyways.

Love that...too funny. Of course he did buy 10 of them. Maybe he had lots of name dropping to do.

As I'm smoking a La Gloria Cubana, I realize that I really like reading stories like this and smoking La Gloria Cubanas. They pair well together.

That's an ass clown here locally. Always braggs about all the boxes he buys and blah blah...but the fugger can't even tell me what kind of wrapper is on the stick he is smoking...nor can he even tell me why he likes what he is smoking....guy is so moronic.

Also he won't smoke a cigar till he has a complete box and only buys the ones that "everyone wants."

Total F'n tool.... /rant

I saw one of these types in a local restaurant (Ciro's) a while back, except they don't allow cigar smoking. He chewed through *three* Partagas blacks at the rate of one every 20 minutes or so... He'd slobber all over the stick and use it to gesture at his friends with the band prominently showing. <G> He got upset when the bartender took his dead slobbered unsmoked cigars away as soon as he set them down. HAH!

Luckily we've been spared these guys at my local B&M, but I come across them in my travels to DC. I like the AF Hemi's - great sticks, but maybe this guy is overcompensating for his shortcomings...

Some people should not be allowed to buy and smoke cigars.

I don't even know what to say. How about... hey look at me!!! I need attention and need to prove that I am "better" than you!

Those kind of people are amazing, but the worst part is that our society breeds those types of people. Gotta have the bigger better things than our neighbors or peers. Argh!

At least he wasn't bragging about a Macanudo...

In all honesty people like that are good for the hobby, they buy all the stuff that real smokers don't normally smoke. Paying outrageous prices for mediocre sticks keeps cash in the pockets of the manufacturers to put out better cigars for us. If it wasn't for guys like that my supply of Short Stories and WOAMs would suffer.

Next time you see him (or someone like him) let him know I am selling all my OpusX at only 3 times MSRP. oflmao:
