I tried the budget thing. All it did for me was put my lack of self-control in the spotlight and give me another thing to worry about, so now every time i think about doing a budget again i just go have a cigar till the thought passes!

Tried the budget thing once for my cigars. Didn't work. I spend what I feel comfortable with. Last month it was about $40-$50. This month so far its $350. Hey, I had room in the coolador that had to be filled. Wife doesn't mind so life is good.

Re: what's your cigar budget?

My budget changes every month, depending on the other household bills.
Living down under has made me have to<Gasp!> save for some cigars I actually want...which is good in a way, since it cut down the Cigarbid impulse bid. No way would I pay the cigar prices here, except for the occasional Habano.

I was thinking the same thing, Tom.

On subject. My budget is what I can afford to spend. I've been on a serious bender here of late, so spending has been high. But in Febuary, I spent very little....of course that was because I chose to try and go a month without buying anything (almost made it).

Re: what's your cigar budget?

I used to have no budget...

That was last year... a very good year income-wise... but when I realized just how much I made... (got my 1099 last month) and that I didn't have much to show for it, didn't save up enough for taxes, was very low on ISOM's and was broke....

Well... heck... there is still no budget but of course there are no purchases either. I've run up some debt early this year and until that gets paid off pretty much most of my tobacco purchases are suspended... with the exception of buying some second hand pod people supplies and a little bulk tobacco too so I can at least have something to smoke and not go through an extended purgatory that would even made Dave squirm.

Be responsible with your money... I wasn't and am paying the price

Re: what's your cigar budget?

A budget you say... Still so much to learn! I know none of my money has had any dust collect on it ofr a little whilenow. If I make it through today, it will be the 1st whole week since PuffDaddy blew me to ribbions I didn't spend any money at c-bid!! That's progress, right?

Re: what's your cigar budget?

I don't have a budget for cigars. I pretty much buy what I want whenever I want to. I do have limits when it comes to how much I will spend on a cigar. I rarely go over the 10 dollar a stick price. I have been able to find pretty much all of my favorites i.e Cuban cigars, Padron Anny's, Opus, Diamond Crowns and Davidoffs for 10 bucks and under. There are a few times when I will spend up to 12 bucks a stick ( Davidoff Double R's, Cohiba Lanceros and Sig V's) once in a while and a couple times a year I will buy a few Padron 1926 for 14-18 bucks a pop.

Re: what's your cigar budget?

Since having a budget requires having money, I do not have one. When I'm in one of those phases when everything's going right, and I find myself with a little extra flow, I buy what's on sale but decent, and one splurge stick. Splurge being seven bucks max. More often then not, its just what's on sale because I can get more of it- who knows when the next phase will be. So I'm sort of an opportunist...
