Box Code help / LGC Tainos
I hope this is the right place to post this question but here goes:
I got a box of La Gloria Cubana Tainos with following box code: FPG OCSU (not sure if the O is a zero or a letter) Old or new, this box ie showing nice amounts of plume. Can't wait to finally try these! ibble: |

Evolving Lead Puffer Fish

This is the old code (pre-2000) style for Cuban cigars. The FPG means the cigars are made in the Partagas factory. The OCSU means they were made in July 1997. This is a very rare cigar as Tainos are made in limited production. They should not be smoked until they are at least 5 years old. The one caveat to check is Tainos of this vintage were sold in varnished boxes of 10. Somehow there seems to be a lot of these around that are in Semi Plain boxes, which would lead one to believe they are fakes. I have even seen counterfeits from Cuba itself.

They look good to me. But I am no expert.
Anyway, the box looks like all the boxes I have seen on the net. ![]() ![]() |
