Starting to really get into the collecting aspect. started with opus x, now i got my hands on some god of fires. generally pick up anything that is on the rare side. My local shop in NYC gets good shipments in on hard to find cigars and my buddy who works there keep me posted ! I don't consider myself a collector...although I am sure my wife would tell you that my 200+ cigar stash is evidence to the contrary! I fully intend to smoke every cigar I have in my current stash with 1-2 years and to continue to keep replenishing my stash as I go. in my view, cigars are meant to be smoked

I do collect the rarer stuff and smoke it also. I try to get 2 of everything so that I may smoke one and collect one. I would consider myself as a 50/50 as far as collecting and smoking!!

I'm not much in to collecting cigars...although I have some that I will age before I smoke them. I do have some fairly expensive sticks that will stay in my humi for quite a while, but I will smoke them eventually. All the cigars in my humidor will be smoked at some point in time, as long as I don't kick the bucket in the meantime!

I age the crap out of everything I get so I call that collecting.
I mean most of the cigars I buy are in my humidor years before i start smoking them.

I am into the collecting side. Any of the rarer stuff, I always try to get a 5er, so that you can still enjoy them for those extra special occasions and not worry that half your collection of that one type just went up in smoke! I know many times it isn't possible, but it's a goal I always try for.

Just picked up a group of the Partagas 160s. I've heard mixed reviews about them, but for the rarity, I knew they had to be in my collection. I feel if you're gonna collect something, might as well be something you enjoy!

In my collection, I may be in the 1,200+ range of cigars at least. I am not sure if I consider myself a collector. I purposely DO NOT look for rare cigars just to stick in my humi. Although, I do make certain box purchases with all intentions on aging them for years to come. Then I do have the intention of smoking them...whether its in 6 months to try em or in 5+ years. But anyone with larger stashes must be looked at as a collector, cause in actuality, we are essentially "collecting" them!

I haven't decided if I'm a collector or not yet. Wait... No, I just got the word from my wife, I am NOT a collector.

Actually, I'm mostly in agreement with PremiumsOnly. If something new and rare is out, I usually pick up anywhere from 2 to 5 of them. Since new and exotic stuff is great review fodder, I'll trend toward 5 so I can smoke 2 or 3 of them for the review, and still have a few on hand. I probably won't be a true collector until I convince my wife that we need a walk in humidor.

Most who are not into cigars always say I'm a collector, because their are some sticks I won't smoke, but I'm saving those for special occasions, although when I think about it I have so many "special occasion" cigars that their would have to be a lot of special days to smoke them all.

I'm more of an "accumulator" than a collector. LOL
Not intentionally, I just don't get the opportunity to smoke nearly as often as I'd like, so I don't end up NEEDing to buy more, I just occasionally DO...

At this point I am definitely a collector. I try to have at least two boxes of everything, (I tell myself one is for smoking) But when I buy, I buy rare or very hard to find collectable cigars and just can't bring myself to smoke them.

I personally do not collect cigars for the sake of collecting cigars. When I purchase or trade for a cigar..I do so with the intension of smoking it. I have had some cigars given to me that I'm not quite sure if I'm going to smoke them or not. I was gifted an Opus X BBMF and an "A" amoung others that I just haven't been able to bring myself to light up.

I never intend to collect, but at over 600 cigars I am probably a collector. I have cigars in my humis that I love, but because it is my last one I refrain.

So now I buy up cigar memorablilia to satisfy my collecting desires.
