Do does your mood effect your smoke?
I had a real suck day at work today ... not a good day at all. Once I got home I decided to smoke one of my Indian Tabac naturals. I usually only smoke when I have the time to really still uninterupted for atleast an hour to relax.
I also take into consider my mood. Being all worked up from today ... I was just puffing away on the cigar. It was my first tabac and I cannot tell you anything about it beacuse my mind was else where. So it got me to thinking about how does mood effect the cigar experience. Do you choose not to smoke after a bad day? Do you smoke only when your in a good mood? Or do you have a certain cigar for a particular mood? Do you have to be in a certain atmosphere? Do you have a ritual of some sort? The first time I tried a RP vintage 1990 churchill. I stepped into my garage with it and locked myself outside in a lightning storm. The only extra key was in Miami with my wife. Needless to say it affected my cigar experience that night. So just wondering ... I got over everything that happened today. I have a porch on which I can sit and have a cigar. Being from a "third world country". I know there many in the world that can't even enjoy a clean glass of water. So I have a lot to be thankful for. Anyway let me know what you guys think. |

I definately agree that the mood is important. If my wife is rushing me or something interrupts my cigar, it irritates me. That being said, if I have a bad day, a sit down and smoke almost always turns it around!

Generally once a cigar is in hand, all else drops to the wayside.. however I spent a couple of hours with discdog on the phone the other night and got into talking to him so much I can't even remember what I smoked... if you ever have a chance to chat with him he is a very interesting man. I certainly look forward to meeting up with him in the near future.
But back to cigars... it is a zen thing... grab cigar, cares go away and all thoughts focus on the smoke and relaxing... |

I've made many a decision or thought out problems while smoking a cigar. It doesn't matter my mood when I start, I'm always in a better mood when I'm done.

Mood affects my smoke greatly.
My smokes always taste bitter when I am angry.

My mood totally effects the way a cigar tastes to me.
I've smoked some of my favorite cigars when I wasn't totally stoked to be smoking and hated them. |

My mood definitely has an effect on the "enjoyability" of the smoke. I learned a long time ago not to break out the "special" ones if I am not in the proper frame of mind. That's when I reach for the good ole standby like the RP Missile, Cuban Blend, Famous Nic 3000, Gurkha Master Select, etc.
That being said, can't recall a time where an Illusione didn't totally rock! |
