It all depends on how long you plan to keep them in there. They will get humidified while in the wrapper, but if you are worried about your cigars touching and marrying their flavours, the wrappers can be handy in preventing this. Plus they make a nice protection barrier if you are taking them out and in your pocket or golf bag or whatever.

I think this is just a matter of personal taste. Unless you have flavored sticks then they should be segregated IMHO.

Unwrapped if they are either in a humi with their family (same brand), in a box in a cooler or if you will be smoking them soon.
Cello on if they are grouped in a humi with multiple different cigars/brands. Over time the flavors will marry and you wouldn't want that.

I agree with Double D. I think that this is a personal choice much like whether you smoke a cigar with the label on or off. I take most of mine out. My personal opinion is that they level off humidity-wise faster, even though that may not be true. I'm not sure. My general rule is that if I buy a whole box that has all of them wrapped then I will unwrap half of them for smoking around the house and then leave the other wrapped in case I want to take them 'on the go'. I do like, however, when you take a cigar out of the wrapper that has been in there for a long time and the cellophane has turned brownish. That's when you know that it is going to be a good smoke.

You don't want to put cellophane wrapped cigars in the same humi as naked cigars. As you rummage around for a smoke, the cellophane wrappers will rub against the naked sticks and may damage their wrappers. Keep them separated.

I also leave them on just in case any mold or beetles develop. The cello will help keep it from spreading.

I leave them the way they come. I don't think it really matters either way.

cello on, cello off...where have I heard that one before? age old question really, and what it all comes down to is you. if you like the cello on, keep it, if you don't, take it off. In the end it really makes no difference.

If I put smokes down for aging and won't be rummaging through them, I unwrap. If it's in the "misc" humi or cooler, I leave 'em wrapped for protection.

For this you could set slates to assure the bare ones don't touch the others.

I see what you're doing!!

One may either leave on or remove the cello from cigars; it's personal preference only. The *wrapper* should stay on the stick though... <G>
Given the size of my humidor and the fact that all the sticks are loose (unboxed) and arranged by size, plus the fact that I rummage around sometimes looking for stuff, I like the added protection the cello offers. As a matter of fact, cigars I have which came without cello end up getting wrapped in tissue or cello before I throw them into my humidor.

I definatly like the look of unwrapped, however I leave them wrapped when they come that way. For no other reason than to basically protect the foot of the cigar. This is what always seems to get damaged first and the worst.
