Helix robusto maduro

Can anyone give me some advice on Helix Robusto Maduro's? I like my La Gloria Serie R #5 Maduro's....so was wondering if these were any good. A buddy of mine told me to try them.

The Helix is milder than the Serie R. The Helix is a good smoke, especially for the price.

I'd recommend the Oliva Serie G, and the La Flor Dominicana Ligero or Double Ligero as well (Chisel or Chiselito).

The dude said he was a noob, what are you trying to kill him?
aumguy29 don't smoke any of those cigars unless you want to get laid out.

My first recommendation for a maduro would be a Hoyo De Monterrey Dark Knight.

I enjoyed the Helix Maduro, but the natural was like smoking air, no flavor at all. For the price they are a decent stick. The Hoyo De Moneterreys are a great smoke.

If you want to try a new maduro (new to you) try the CAO Mx2. One of my fav maduros and at a good price.

The Helix Maduro is a great start into maduro cigars. In fact, this is the cigar that my local B&M will steer people towards when looking for a not-so-expensive good cigar. I think you'll like it.

Kass sent me an Mx2, it's resting but I think I might break it out tomorrow with a morning coffee.

I totally agree with MX2 and HdM recommendations. If you like the LGC Maduro I think some others you might like (that would be good for a newer cigar smoker) include:

Gran Habano VL
Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Maduro
Bucanero Clasico Maduro
Arturo Fuente Double Chateau Maduro
5 Vegas Series A
Saint Luis Rey Serie G Maduo

threadjack on...

These are great cigars for someone new to cigars to learn the difference between "full" and "strong." They are great cigars... medium to full flavored, but will let you know what "strong" means when you are finished and try to stand up. I'd say get a couple and let them sit for 6 months, then have a good meal and try them out. Don't be afraid of them, just build up some tolerance first.

threadjack off...

Others to try are the Camacho Diploma, Partagas Black, 601 Maduro, CAO Brazilia. That's all I can think on at the moment. Padron 6000 or 3000 Maduros you might find enjoyable also.
