Re: What is your "taking the dog for a walk" cigar?

I go to my NC humidor and try to pick something I haven't tried before, or something cheap that I liked in the past. I don't smoke anything premium or Cuban while walking the dog because:

*Wind can cause burn problems
*Walking while smoking doesn't allow you to take in the aroma as much
*Never know when you might have to drop the cigar to get your dog to stop chasing a squirrel or humping the neighbor's poodle
*Just don't quite enjoy them as much as when lounging around

that's because you live in Platte City, MO.

i don't like smoking a cigar while walking...and i rarely do it while driving. to me i like to relax and be able to enjoy my cigar, i'm unable to do this while walking; but sometimes i can while driving.

Re: What is your "taking the dog for a walk" cigar?

I like to go for walks when the weather is nice, and having a nice cigar makes the whole thing more enjoyable. My favorite "walking sticks" are the Punch Elite and London Club as well as the AF Cuban Corona (warmer weather only). If it is really nice outside, a Monte Afrique Machame is just the ticket.

Re: What is your "taking the dog for a walk" cigar?

Interesting mix of answers.

I asked mainly because this spring will be my first spring of walking the dog, with the potential for having a cigar. Just started smoking last Oct./Nov.

I guess it is a try it and see type thing, to find if you even enjoy it, although I can't imagine it being a total downer. It would seem that staying PC size is the way to go, and not burning your top end stuff.

Maybe a Curly Head, that would fit the "not caring if you need to toss it" category, based on price. ALthough, I would hate to toss it, so maybe just walking a little further is the way to go.

When I'm looking for something to smoke while driving somewhere or doing something outside, I reach for my boxes of ERdM Demi-Tasse.

Re: What is your "taking the dog for a walk" cigar?

My dogs run free (we're on acreage in the country)... But if I'm burning one outdoors, I generally stick to the shorter, cheaper stuff. If conditions are right (i.e., no wind), I might splurge a little.

Re: What is your "taking the dog for a walk" cigar?

Last year I enjoyed the Short Story for the dog walk smoke. Its about the right timing for a walk for me and anything stronger I would like to have a drink with to cleanse the palette occasionally.
