Tis the season, or at least it hopefully will be soon. So, what type of stick do you like when walking?

Interesting question.
I usually light any cigar and at some point, I open the door and I get my two little guys and go walk them.
Have never thought of a cigar specifically for it.
I guess if I were to do that, it would be a PC, probably a Party, Boli or a Monte.

Funny, I don't seem to enjoy a cigar that much if I'm walking. Is it just me??

I've always stuck with the PC size or smaller when walking the dog.

Same here. I tried walking my dogs while smoking a couple of times and it doesn't work for me; can't really explain why.

I do take a slow leisure walk with my neighbor or friends occasionally and normally I prefer something small like a PC.

Opus XXX or Zino Bullet

Both are small and well constructed. Zino is medium-full, Opus is full. Either way, I usually walk the dog after dinner.

When you can't smoke in the house, all cigars are "walking the dog" cigars.

Re: What is your "taking the dog for a walk" cigar?

I find that when I smoke when walking my cigar of choice burns horribly, regardless of the cigar. Perhaps it is caused by the breeze blowing primarily on one side of the cigar due to the way I hold it. I usually have to perform numerous corrections when smoking and walking. Another problem is that I always seem to lose my ash, occasionally on my shirt.

Re: What is your "taking the dog for a walk" cigar?

if you mean take the dog for a walk as in make him do his business and go back, nothing. I've trained my dog to go outside in under a minute. If an actual walk, Cohiba minis. are those even considered cigars? if it's with the gf and dog, anything that I wouldn't mind having to throw away after half.

Re: What is your "taking the dog for a walk" cigar?

In the winter, I give the dog a 10-15 min walk, so this past winter it has been RyJ minis. Those last exactly that length of time.

In the summer, it's up to ~30 min walk, so then I go for a cheap corona or petit corona. I think this summer it's going to be Punch Elites, cheap enough that I don't feel bad tossing it if the walk ends early.

I really like these, and they are nicely priced. I don't get to walk my dog, damn disability But, I do go outside and sit with a cigar and let my dog run around the block a few times. I will smoke bout near anything for that, cause I can take all the time I want. She (the dog) is nwever in a hurry to return to the yard.

Interesting side note, my dog loves to eat the ashes off my cigars. But she is picky, she only eats the Good ashes, if it is a gas station smoke, she sniffs and walks away. She loves Torano 1959 ashes and she really prefers Cuban. Smart dog.

lol, I'm with you on that one. My wife has a horse and I like to take the dogs out when she's riding, usually an hour plus. It's a great way to unwind, I like a lighter cigar when I'm walking, usually save the maddies for deck smokes, so I'd say my favorite walk the dog smoke is an AVO petit belicoso.
