Cigar Lounges and other random musings
I was out camping this weekend...the weather was great, the park was great, but I had a heck of a time really enjoying my cigars. I think I have come to the conclusion that on the whole, smoking inside is much more preferable to smoking outside - even when the weather is nice. Now, part of this may be that it was fairly windy all weekend, and that probably had something to do with the burn problems and the general feeling that I was not getting the "full effect" of smoking my favorite smokes. Even the hearty ones seemed a little less interesting when enjoyed outdoors. Perhaps I was missing watching the smoke gently rise up through the air? No doubt, that is part of the whole experience. What do you guys think?
Also, I got a chance to read my Cigar Aficionado magazine - the one with Richard Branson on the cover - and they had a article in it about cigar lounges. They made a point of highlighting Casa Fuente in Las Vegas as being this great cigar lounge. I've been there twice and it was basically empty both times. Perhaps I have missed something by going at the wrong times, but I didn't think it was all that great - even if I imagined it being full of cigar smokers. Robustos and the others I've seen pictures of here look much more interesting.

Casa is a nice place. It is geared toward the high end smoker. I go there now and then to meet some friends or to have a herf. I guess that is the same thing. Somedays it is packed and others there are only a few people. I think it depends on the criteria of what a great lounge is and that is different to everyone. Casa's draw is that it is a unique place, has all the Fuente products, nice looking girls and is in Vegas. The bad things are the prices are high and the chairs SUCK!

The one time I was in Casa Fuente, it was dead and the only guy we saw who was working was on his cell phone. I saw the prices and was somewhat shocked. Ended up buying my cigars at Hamilton's in New York New York.
I love smoking a nice cigar while sitting around a campfire. Those times are heavenly. When we take our float trips in Alaska, I always bring 50ish cigars for 10 days. We will have 40-50 cases of beer, so cigars are a must while camping.

I would probaly tend to think that smoking indoors is better myself. I was by Casa Fuente just once and it was freaking packed! By that was the weekend of the Big Smoke last year. As far as it being a lounge its pretty small. Most of the sitting is out in the shops area not even in CF. As far as Robusto's, yes its a better lounge but Casa is a one of a kind place thanks to its owners LOL
