Doin' a segment on Cigars in an upcoming show - need suggestions

Hi Folks,

As some of you know, my friend Mike and I do a little podcast called The Mind of Men.

On one of our upcoming shows in the next few weeks, I am going to devote a segment to Cigar 101. I'll be looking for some feedback when that happens, but in the meantime, I'm looking for some suggestions.

I would like to recommend about five cigars in the mild category, Five in the Medium, and Five in the Full Bodied. Now, I generally smoke fairly full bodied cigars, but I would love to get some suggestions from others.

My only criteria are that the cigars I recommend should be generally available - I want to avoid any special editions that have a limited release - people might listen to this podcast in a year and I would prefer to recommend cigars that can be reliably found for the foreseeable future.

I would also like to keep the cost per stick down to about $9 tops, preferably with the bulk of my reviews falling into the $5-$6 category.

Go ahead and hit me with some suggestions. Don't worry if someone has already named your pick - I will choose ones that get a good number of recommendations.

Thanks in advance

Jim

Try CAO. This being a very well know manufactor and has tons of variety. Many can be had within the dollar you are seeking. I can't say there has been a single CAO of any particular line that I thought was a poor choice. Brazilain and Gold are one of my favorites.

Looking forward to the podcast...

Thanks

Thanks for the info.

Yea, I am a big fan of CAO (although I have mistakenly pronounced it as "COW" more than once on the show - and been properly called out).

The Brazil is one of my favorites.

If I could ask folks to give me specific cigars, and let me know what category they consider them to be - Mild, Medium, or Full, that would be a huge help. I won't have time to smoke them all before the podcast, so I will be relying on the expert opinions here...

Jim

May I suggest one of each strength...Something like a Don Thomas Special Edition for the mild side, CAO Black for a Medium, and maybe a Oliva V for the full bodied side.
