ok, this is cigar related...

UPS has been attempting to deliver a package since last monday, a package that requires adult signature. The first time the driver just crept up and put the notice on my front door, even though I was sitting 6 feet from the door all day with my son, watching Godzilla movies. Tuesdays attempt was to deliver it to the leasing office, who refused to sign for it (when we signed the lease they said they would sign for packages) so tuesday night I called a scheduled to have it delivered on monday 11/26. well, UPS tried to deliver it again on wed at 805 PM (I was home at that time as well). so I wait until monday and lo and behold, no package delivered. call up the customer care center and am told, it wasnt set out for delivery because it was scheduled for pickup (even though I called and scheduled it to be delivered today). I re routed it to my work addy, so it should be delivered on wed.

Sorry for the hassle Zack, they have never made anyone else sign for the packages. It was a new guy working when I shipped it.

no problem, I just got a phone call from the head of the local hub here. he tried to explain to me how the guy who handles this sort of thing is on vacation and they couldnt handle my request for delivery schedule today. he understood why I was pissed and said it would be delivered tomorrow at my work

At least you got it settled. I've had morons walk up to my door, with me watching, and put a note on the door and walk back to their truck with the package in hand. When I run out, they look all shocked that I was home. UPS doesn't deliver here until night and I'm home before 4 most days.

Seems like they are notorious for this stuff. Same thing happened to me and I ended up having it forwarded to my place of employment after a week of trying to get it to me.

I really hate it when they do that. I've had the same experience - waiting in for a package and not heard a peep, only to find it dumped outside. I suppose I at least got it delivered, but it was a bloody laptop in the package, sat out in the cold and damp. What makes these guys so reluctant to just try knocking on the door for goodness sake?

When I lived in an apartment, we were on the second floor. We had one set of stairs to get to our door, I think there were 15 steps. Well the FedEx person was so lazy, that he would not walk up the steps and would just leave the package at the leasing office. No note or anything. I was pretty mad about that. We even had an OVERNIGHT package that we did not know about and it sat in the leasing office for almost 2 weeks. It was papers for our new home! I was mad at the FedEx person for not caring and the mortgage company for not calling and letting us know about them until it had been 2 weeks!
