LGC Miami v. LGC Dominican
Now I learn that LGC's are made in two different places. I really like the Serie R Maduro #4, which I get at a local liquor store. Does it make a difference where it is made; Miami v. D.R.?

Been trying to get an answer to that for a while now [on more than one board] - no one has really come forward with an opinion...

Squid prefers the Dominican... I don't have any scientific reason, I just feel one tastes better than the other... I'm basing this on half-a-dozen of each consumed...

I've had better experiences with the Miami in every case. To be fair, I've not smoked all that many from D.R. But I have a box of Miami-made Wavell Maduros in the humi right now, and they have performed flawlessly. If I had to guess, I would say that quality control in the Miami shop is better purely because their production scale is much smaller.
Now, here's the part that admittedly may be 100% psychological... I could swear that the blend coming out of the Miami shop is a little stronger than the D.R. My box of Wavells is considerably stronger than D.R.-made versions I'd smoked previously. Mine taste more like the blend used for the El Rico Habano (M). I'm sure an LGC representative would quickly tell me that the blend from both factories is identical, but... Anyway, that's my 2c. Given the choice, go Miami. |

I prefer the Serie R (Dominican) over the others.

Hell I didn't even know they had the same blend being made at both locations. Does it say it on the cigar? Box?
