You should PM some of the retail shops on here. I do not know any numbers or anything like that but I would say the culture is growing now maybe more than it ever did before. Sounds like a great paper, if you do it post it on here.

Would like to see the paper too. The local B&M guy is super nice, just wonder how these guy get buy. Seems like you would have to sell a helluva lot of sticks and the internet must put a hurtin on their business.

It is growing right now and has been for the last several years. I think something like 9.6 billion sticks were sold in America last year.

You know, the online sweep is hurting B&M's for sure, but I think cigars are a growing trend in the country right now. I worked for my uncle who has owned a B&M for almost 30 years, he definitely knows the online retail is growing at a large rate, but B&M sales are up too. I wonder was causes cigar smoking to continue to increase? Maybe people are starting to enjoy the finer things in life. I'm interested to read your paper on your findings. This is a great topic, good luck. MDD.

Well actually, my "business paper" is actually a business plan... I found a Business Plans for Dummies book the other day, and Thought about the large space that just opened up for rent off of 2920, a place that is exploding with development, and thought it would be fun to just draw up a 15 page business plan for a cigar/bar/lounge... cause i think it would be great for the area cause theres nothing around here like that.... but I will check those things out and post it on here if u guys really want.

Before I opened my store, while I was writing my business plan, I contacted the RTDA looking for this kind of information, and they shut the door in my face. Over the last several years the cigar business in general has grown, but it seems to be plateau-ing lately (over the last 3 or 4 months), which I attribute to the slowing down of the economy overall.

http://www.itsagrind.com/ inside it... my brother worked at one, and its great coffee... better than the shitty Starbucks coffee that I work with.. (minus a few roasts)
